Psych nursing in florida

U.S.A. Florida

Thinking of relocating to Florida area. Not real sure where yet. I have been in the mental health field for 6 years as a nurse. Would like to stay in this area of nursing. Can anyone suggest some mental health facilities in Florida? Also, what is the pay range for nurses in Florida?

I don't know the exact pay range, as it's been a few years since I lived in FL. But the pay is quite low, I can tell you that. Where are you relocating from? When I lived there, I met quite a few nurses who would move down from Georgia or the Carolina's and have to work 2 jobs because they couldn't make enough. Cost of living is high, with not great pay. I never worked psych while I was there, although I do now. I wouldn't ever move back though. I will say, stay out of Central Fl. I can't say much about other areas as I didn't live there though. Good luck to you!

I'm from Illinois. I am just hoping that I don't have to take a drop in pay.

I would say somewhere in the low 20's is what you would most likely make, unless pay has gone up in the last few years.
