How was your first semester? If you don't mind me asking how many points did you have when you applied and do you know what the cut off was? I submitted my application with 26.4. I am taking pharm now in the summer with **********. Did you have Professor ********?

"Above average" is kind of vague. How many points do you have? As for the lower standard regarding points... 26.7 isn't really low. There is a lower average for acceptance into Belle Glade (~25 points.), but the part-time program is pretty high at an average of 27.5-28.5.

You would have to have a Bacherlors or Masters degree and the full 10 points from the HESI A2 to be consider "Competition". A lot of people are rockin' 27-28 points from what I'm hearing. It's going to be pretty close across the board! Good luck!

I had 27.53 points. The cutoff I believe was around 25.6, I think. The program is soooo different than being in "regular" college classes. It's really hard to explain. Be prepared for a very heavy workload. Papers, skills, studying.... It's a lot! But it's so refreshing when you reach the end of the semester and realize how much you've learned in just one semester. Clinicals is my favorite part of nursing school. You're going to love it :)

Yes, I had professor ********* for 2 of my classes :( I'm still in shock over her passing

Krystalanne, How was the Procalc? I'm taking that tomorrow morning. And what days did your classes fall on? Odd questions, but actually the only two on my mind.

Thanks!

Do you know how she passed? I almost took her for the summer pharm class :( so sad. I hear a lot about how much work the program is. I'm glad you are half way there and doing well and enjoying the program. Thanks for sharing :). I hope the cut off for Fall stays the same, I am a bit nervous with my 26.4.

Chilly,

I got a 95 on my first try for the procalc. It's not that bad. There is a study guide on our schools website and if you just study that you should be fine. Just have to know certain conversions. There are practice and learning exercises on PrivateGuru - Jules' Master Classes in Drug Calculations.

All they're telling us is that she passed unexpectedly. :( procalc was easy, and I'm NOT a math person. I got a 95 when I took it. As far as classes, clinical are on Monday & Tuesday, 7:30-1:30 (some professors had their groups come from 7am-1pm), lecture is Wednesday & Thursday from 2pm-4pm. I had pharm on Thursday mornings and skills lab on Friday mornings. Clinical and lecture are the only times that are the same for everyone (for the full time program). You choose any available time for pharm and skills lab. Hope this helps :). So you guys should know if you got in by July 1st, right? Soooo exciting!!!

Krystal,

Thank you so much for all the info :). I just received an email that my application is complete and I can view my points online. I guess after June 1st it will take 3-4 weeks to hear something.

RIP to Professor ******** and Professor ********.

I'm going into 3rd sem in the fall. My points for when I came in last fall was 26.7 I believe. I barely made it in, but I have one of the highest grades in my class. Your point total is not an indicator of what kind I student you will be. I know someone who had 28 points but has much lower grades then me. Nursing school is doable, but it takes a lot of work. If you're an A student, be prepared to get challenged. Most students get Bs or Cs and As are rare. You can all do it! Just study hard and relax a little just before the tests to release anxiety! Good luck :)

Me too!!! What are your points !? Mine are 25.61 :/ I was looking at last years posts and I think they received there acceptance letters a month after June, around July 1 or 2. I'm hoping they will send them sooner though because I am freaking out, I've been checking my email everyday since I submitted my application! Lol
