Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Nursing for experienced RN

  1. Hey all!

Just got an opportunity to move back home to Miami, FL. I've lived there as a child but never as a working professional adult (let alone RN)

I'm an ED RN with over 4 years exp, CEN cert, and all the other CPR and ENA stuff that goes with it. My question is how are the working conditions, pay, job security, patient to nurse ratios down south? I've heard that Jackson Memorial is a pretty bad place with frequent turnaround for nurses. What about the others? Say Mt. Sinai, Baptist? etc?

I'm planning to move come December of this year but I surely don't want to make the mistake of going to a place I'm goint to end up regretting and being miserable at???

Any advice would be a tremendous help, you guys!

Hi, Im working in Fort Lauderdale right now. The census is low in the summer time so kinda slow for Per DM. Staff RN's are still working. The hiring will be picking up Sept. and Oct. Many hospitals in Broward County/Ft. Laud. are looking for Exp. ER nurses. Dont let anyone tell you different. Also check out Bethseda in Boyaton Beach area. Good luck.
