MDC Summer Semester

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey everyone,

I'm moving from Washington DC to Miami FL.

I'm taking 1) A&P I w/ lab

2) Nutrition

during the spring semester of 2009 at Miami Dade College at Wolfson Campus in order to begin my pre-req's. Their website does not have anything posted yet for the summer session of 2009. I do know that it is a 12 week program divided into two 6 weeks. Do you know what can be taken during the summer? Can I take A&P II, Micro, or Chem (all with labs) during the summer. Does anyone have recommendations as to what I should take next? How to pair them? Good professors?

Thanks so much!

Go to ratemyprofesor.com to find good and avoid bad professors. I spoke to registration last semester, asking the same questions you have about which classes are offered during the summer. I was told that generally every class they offer during the Fall and Spring is offered during the summer (especially sciences). I wouldn't reccomend taking too many classes over the summer because it may get overwhelming. I would suggest that you take maybe one class and it's accompanying lab during each summer session. That alone will get hectic as the lab classes require just as much work as the lectures. One thing I learned at MDC is that less credit hours does not equal less work or study time required. They're all the same. good luck.

I would definitely advise you against taking all this together. You have to remember that you MUST do good on your science courses and I would recommend to you not to risk failing or getting C's on sciences. Maybe take one class and a Lab and that still would not be easy in such a short time, Good Luck! I'm taking CHM and MCB now.

I took nutrition at wolfson campus, and I had a great teacher. e-mail me and I will tell you her name.

A&P I took at a hospital class, and it was really good- I don't remember what the teacher's name was, I just know what hospital I took it at.

The A&P labs are all the same on the main campuses, so I can't really recommend a teacher or a campus there for that particular class.

taking an A&P with lab and a nutrition class during the summer course is not a lot of classes to take.

during one summer I took 5 classes at miami dade plus I worked full time as a nursing assistant--- with adequate study time, it can be done.
