Hi guys!

I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.

I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.

So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe

:nurse:

Hi everyone,

I am also applying for Spring 2012 both accelerated and generic.

I'm so nervous because my GPA is pretty low, less than a 3.0, but I got an 89% on the TEAS... I sent in my app last week. Just waiting to hear from them now!

Just to verify with you guys. What classes are they using to calculate your GPA?

I wish everyone luck!

Hi rnati!

I'm glad you joined us! :)

The classes they are counting are:

Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 + Lab

Human Anatomy & Physiology 2 + Lab

Chemistry for Health Sciences +Lab

& Microbiology

I just applied to the program! I'm so happy!!!! Now the wait begins!!!! They said that we should be hearing from them in mid October! :D

Hey there!

I'm planning on applying to the Spring program anytime within the next 2 weeks. However, I took my TEAS twice and got a score of %71 both times. My prerequisite gpa is a 3.06, which is not so high. I would really like to retake the TEAS, now that I clearly know my weak areas, but I don't know if they'll allow me to do so. :(

What do you guys think about my situation?

Hi ac motivated

You can only take the Teas twice a year, so I don't think they would let you take it again unless a year had passed by.

Now, about your gpa...It's that your science pre-requisites gpa or your general?

If it is your science one you have a 42.6 from the teas and a 30.6 from your gpa which makes a 73.2 total! I can tell you that this last time the 1st round of acceptance were around the 82.1...of course, after some ppl deferred their seats, other applicants with lower scores got accepted. :)

But don't get discourage by this, we don't know how it's going to be this time... supposedly there are less applicants on the spring. On the other hand, if you could take the teas again (supposing that it's been a year since you last took it) you should aim for a higher score just to be on the safe side.

I wish you the best of lucks :lol2:

See ya around! :D

Hi ac motivated,

yisy4u is correct, you can only take the teas exam twice a year. you would have to wait a year from the first attempt you did. So what you will need to do is go to the testing department at the medical campus and request a print out of your teas score. You're going to have to submit the same results if you want to apply for spring.

Good luck!

Hello! I will be applying for the Spring 2012 (full time - generic) program on Tuesday! That same day I will also take the TEAS for the second time (first time I got a 70)!

My science GPA is 2.8 so I need to score 87 or more on the TEAS to be "competitive enough" ...

I'm so nervous! :uhoh3:

I'm studying from the ATI book as well as the practice tests. Also, I took the math classes for the exam last month so I feel better in that area. What makes me nervous is the science part :(

Good luck everyone!! Hope to see you guys in January :)

Good luck in your test karypunx :lol2:

Good luck in your test karypunx :lol2:

Thank you very much!! :)

there are classes to help you with the TEAS? if so can anyone give me information on that?

Thanks a mil!

My friend took one at Med Campus, although he got a 69 so it obviously wasn't terribly effective for him. I would call the testing department at the Med Campus.
