Welcome to the Baptist Team and Jacksonville! Congrats on the job. Like Kate stated they are hard to come by. Especially at Wolfson.

Are they normally hard to hire or is there just a hiring freeze?
I just applied for the ER position and i am SO excited about the chance of working there! I work at the "wolfson" of Miami and really want to stay in pediatrics!

It might take a little longer right now. everyone is working on budgets that are due at the end of sept. So I am sure they are trying to show that their units need help and that way they can get more help. My suggestion to you is call the manager.

I spoke to HR and they told me that my application hasnt been rejected theres just no reply and so i told her if there was a way i can have a phone number or email to the manager or specific hiring recruit for that position and she told me they were not allowed to disclose that information. what do i do? I wish i could just go over there but im in miami would it be wierd if i call the hospital and just ask to be transferred to the ER? and just see if the manager is there?? or is that stalkerish? lol i really want the job. I absolutely love pediatrics and i have a real passion and knack for it.

i wish i had the ER managers email

Ask your manager in Miami if they know anyone at Wolfson. Can't hurt to try that.

    CONGRATS!

There are no uniform at Wolfson's they just wear nice scrubs.
The hospital is really nice and provides a good environment for children. I had clinical there as a student and I work at DT so I occasionally still go over there. All of Downtown is half computer and half paper. The MAR for peds is on the computer as are labs and such. The flowsheet though is on paper. Baptist Dt is still on the process of moving it all the computer. As for patient ratios that I am unsure of. I know that the regular floor its 1:6. But am somewhat unsure of and have no clue as to the others.

I am pretty sure the PICU ratio is no more than 3:1. I am pretty sure it is 2:1. Good luck!!! =) I hope you get it!!

any tips for interviewing?? My first job ( peds as well, ive been here a year and a half) i had done my clinicals and preceptorship there so i was familiar with the hospital and people so i was already comfortable with them.

I heard i shouldnt offer my resume or letters of recommendation unless they specifically ask for it. Is that true?
