FIU Nursing program

I applied for the fall of 2012 for florida International University and am just anxiously waiting for the answer if i got in. I have a 4.0 gpa, did some volunteer hours, my video came out alright :/ and pretty much passed my HESI so there's a good chance I might get in, if there is anyone out there that has done the program and or is currently in it could shed some light on how the program is. Also, advice if any on preparing before entering the program. Any information would be appreciated!

Sad to say, no. I feel bad for not doing so - because I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. But, every program seems to want their set of extra "required" classes. It's like, I don't want to waste time and money on classes for a college I might not end up going to if accepted at FIU! I know that runs the risk of then putting too much hope in getting into the one place, but I don't know. If I'm not accepted, I'll just move onto the next step... :cry: How about you?

Hi I also applied to FIUs program for this fall and am anxiously waiting for a response. When did you call? I was planning on calling today. I really thought we would have an answer by now. Last year students found out in 3 weeks. I guess watching all the videos is taking them longer. Does anyone know how many students applied??

I actually called yesterday, and they said end of this month. :eek: Stinks....

I honestly don't think it's the videos. I mean, each video had to be under 3 minutes anyway. Maybe... maybe not. I mostly think they're just waiting for the summer A grades (for those taking COM and NUR in summer A) to get to them before they send out letters. :sniff:

Oh I see. I thought that miami dade has a BSN program as well?

yeah I kinda wished I applied to other programs as well too, but I didn't. If I don't get accepted I was just thinking of applying to nova or barry. But I'm not sure yet.

Yes it probably isn't smart to put all my hope into this one school but i didn't know where else to go! all the other school are pretty far and expensive so i'm just hoping this one works out if not....thennnn thats a whole another year i got to figure out lol:no:

You're right! I'm sure they are waiting for grades. :/ My friend, who has now completed a year, told me Last year she found out around June 8th. I guess last year they didn't wait for summer A students.

Hi, no problem. I have a 3.5. :| it's not the best, but hopefully it's good enough. :)
