    Future,
Not sure but I think just 1 folder. I think it says everything is to go to the one person. Don't quote me on it though! I got my PPD today at my doctors and was told that Quest fouled up my Hep titer. They did a titer for Hep C and not B, but I'm immune to C and now I know. So another stick and have to wait for that one to come back. I got all the others back to my doctors in like 4 days. It was awesome. Tomorrow is my PE and then Wed. my PPD read and I will also be done. I am not ordering my uniforms until I see them at orientation. Pants I can get at any time but the top I will need to see or try on, kind of busty!! I need a BP cuff and my husband has a steth that we bought for him before his cruise during Operation Freedom. He barely used it so I am getting it! Thanks for the info on the skills kit whoever posted it, I have been waiting for someone to let us know on here when they would be the right ones and when they were in.

I called the Bookstore about the med term book for Spring and the girl said they won't get them in until sometime in December. Another thing to wait until orientation to get.

Hope everyone can relax and have wonderful Thanksgiving, it's going to get crazy real soon!!!

I've seen you been busy as well!!! Well in our packet the health information goes to CP and the background information goes to TL thats why I am like do we need to separate folders? As of now I have the health info in one pocket and the background info in the other pocket. Now all I am waiting for is for Worksource to process my application so I can see how much money they will give me! I also can't wait for them to reimburse me for all this money I have spent Pretty $600 yikes!!!

Keep your receipts. Worksource will reimburse for the physical/titers and the uniforms but they will not for the books! (trick - if you bought your books before you got worksource book form.....tell the desk you are 'returning' the books you bought and re-purchasing using the book chit you got. )

    Future,
I guess there is nothing else to do but have two folders with your name, etc. on the outside when you go to turn the stuff in. So if it is going to two separate people you'll be set. Thanks for asking that, I might have been caught flat footed!

    Stawall,
The bookstore girl didn't know what book it would be when I talked to her yesterday. I have had it before several years ago as well and the good thing is I still have the flash cards that came with the book. So I can start reviewing some now.

For all of you that don't know and may want to get a jump on the dosage calculations, yes, test on the first Monday of Spring semester, Jan. 11. Along with med term. Go to the BB, select the communities tab, then nursing north campus. In that tab there should be a power point and practice test with answers under Dosage 1. You may have to register first to get to it. Don't freak out, if you work with it a little every day it should be fairly easy.

    Good Luck!

    ok everyone another few questions:

-for those of you who are using worksource, how exactly do they know you were "laid off" and such? my problem is that I worked under the table for 2 years, and was fired... so I'm not sure that counts, right?

-Do we turn in our folders full of stuff at oreintation?

Thanks guys! I have to say, i LOVE this website.

So far I've gotten everything done, besides my physical & titers, but I have an appt for next Monday. Is everyone getting excited for oreintation? my husband says he's never seen someone so happy about a "school function" LOL!

Congratulations to everyone who made it! I received my acceptance letter last Friday. I stumbled across this board after looking for my stethoscope. Thought I'd say congrats and ask a few questions.
Where did the info come from as far as this first test is concerned? Was it in the packet we received and I missed it? Is there someone we were to call that would have told us this? It just seems there are so many who knew nothing about this, myself included. This is something that tends to cause people to be a little uneasy. I can't get into BB so I'm not at liberty to view those items you've told everyone about. I have put in a phone call to Ms. ***** and am waiting for a call back. It may have to do with the fact that the decline/accept date is the 30th but who knows.
Anyway Congrats to you all and I'm sure we'll meet at the orientation.

They probably heard this from prior semesters. I am in Fall right now and you do have a medical terminology and dosage calulation test. The medical terminology is mostly A&P review. Like the names of the planes (transverse, midsagittal, etc). The med term book was a waste of money (my opinion). You only have one med term test and then you never use the book again. It is a good reference though if you are having trouble learning words that you will start hearing in the hospital. But that's really all it is, a reference. If you've taken the class before, your old book should be fine. They will tell you on BB what terms you need to know. The first dosage calc test is basic math really. The tests do get a little harder (you will have 3 tests total). So brush up on metric conversions and try not to let the fact that the tests are on the first day scare you! :spin:

I just got back from the Doc, and turns out I have no HepB antibodies at all. So I am starting the series of boosters now. I also had to get MMR booster. I am thinking jeeze, thanks mom, did I not get any vaccines as a kid or what?!?! Thank goodness my varicella was good though. So today I got a total of three shots I am such a wimp when it comes to them. So now I just have to wait until next week to get my PPD test. I also went and got my passport photo at the UPS store but it turned out way to light so I am going to have it redone. But just an FYI, the UPS store gives a discount to students for the passport photo. It is only 7.95.

Also, I just went out to BB and all you have to do is enroll in the organization to be able to view the information for nursing. It has alot of information on dosage calculations listed. It is located under nursing tutor.

    Stephanie09..
Thanks so much for the helpful info!!

Thank you for the response Stephanie09. What is this BB everyone is talking about? I hope it's not black board because I can't get on to that.
