Fall 2013 FSCJ Nursing Student Hopefuls

Hey everyone! Wanted to go ahead and start a thread for our group. I've been following the spring and summer 2013 group a little and figured it might be a good idea to get focused for the fall 2013 group. I've completed all my prerequisites and took my NAT test. Got a 107 on the test and I'm sitting at a 93 will all the prerequisites. So I'm going into the application process with a 203. Does anyone know what the general cut off is? I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure everyone else is too. The only thing I haven't completed is the CPR. I read once that this can be done after acceptance into the program...is that true? Thanks everyone! Can't wait to start chatting!

Oh well that's a big change. That's great to know I have more time. I m going to email cheryl James again and question her bc she's the one that told me the April 1 st deadline. I think she's the program director. She made it seem these were permanent changes for 2013. I will let you guys know her response. Better safe than sorry. Hoping your right !! Def need more time!!

I applied for the Fall '13 LPN program. I did check off nights/weekends too just in case of something comes up. If I get denied, I do plan on applying for Spring '14.

I'm extremely anxious. I live in Clay, I got TABE exemption, and I have around 50 college credits. Got CPR certified. I just feel very unsure of myself. Also, hate waiting! Hoping everything is in my favor, tho.

BTW I'm Lauren & new.

Hi everyone, I'm Sheila. I'm kinda new to this website.

I've been browsing it over the years, and finally signed up when I noticed this thread.

I'm hoping to get into the fall program as well, but I have yet to take the NAT test.

I'm enrolled to finish my last pre-req (MCB2010) this summer. Ahh.

I've never been a strong test taker, so can anybody offer me tips/advice on how to study for the NAT?

When I applied for summer the cut off was 187.04, I was told you must apply by april 1st.

Sheila I am no good at math so what I reviewed the most was just becoming quick with my math skills, I also reviewed my anatomy notes and that was a HUGE help for the science section. Don't be intimidated the material really isn't bad :)

The best thing you can work on is being efficient with your time. You won't get penalized for incorrect answers so don't get hung up on a question, just give it your best guess (I made a note of the question number on the scratch paper) and move on to the next question. If you have enough time left at the end, you can go back to the question(s) you were unsure about and work on them some more. If you look through the Summer 2013 FSCJ thread a couple of us posted some different resources to use for studying (sample test questions, study guides, etc.). Best of luck!

congrats on chasing your dreams. Can anyone give me some feedback on how best to prepare for the NAT..someone mention they ran out of time, is it based on speed as well ? Am trying to meet FSCJ application deadline for Fall 3013 as well, per website the deadline is June 1 is that still accurate ? Thanks kindly

hello everyone. I hope you all get in. We have come along so far and worked hard and now its about time for our hard work to show. Have anyone took the cpr class yet and where? I am trying to get registered at st vincents because it is only $20 for fscj students but everytime i call i dont get no answer nor a return phone.

Hello everyone,

Am transferring from another college to FSCJ my intent is to meet the Fall 2013 deadline as well, but a bit clueless as to what to focus on for the NAT. Can someone shed some light as to the type of question they had ask or topic i need to refresh, I took my science classes a while back so I know i definitely need to review those. Thanks a bunch.

PS.someone asked about the cut off point, I was reading the blog for summer and I saw where someone got accepted with a total of 176 points

Hello Everyone!

Is there a clear answer on the application deadline?? I had planned on applying for Fall 2013 until I was told the deadline was changed to April 1st, which wouldn't work for me since I am waiting on my current spring grades to post. I am enrolled for Micro this summer and took the NAT today and am sitting at 200.88 points. My points wont change at all since the summer micro grades won't make the "new" cutoff to apply for Spring either... I am thinking I will just turn in a Fall application based on the website still giving a June 1st deadline... any thoughts??

Hello Jencarlie, first of all congrads on your excellent score. For fall 2013, the deadline is june 1st. I picked up an updated application yesterday and says to apply inbetween april 1st and june 1st meaning that we have until june 1st. im not sure if we can turn in application on june 1st so i think its best to turn it in before then to be safe, if possible. i hope this helps. I think you should go ahead and turn in your fall application because that is a great score. i dont think you have anything to worry about. if you dont mind me asking, what was your score for your grades and your nat score (individually)?
