Have been hearing that BC will be requiring math prerequisite and may be dropping Chemistry pre-req for nursing program for students starting Jan 2013. Please post any specific information you have received from the school. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The people on the phone are not exactly sure what's going to happen.

I dropped the Micro this summer to take the supposedly required math for January and registered for micro in the fall. Now the math req appears to be delayed but does the attached mean that Micro is a prereq before you can apply?

OMGoodness!

I just read the new requirement for the 2013-14 and beyond; and this change is very surprising. They have revised and changed their whole NP requirement to make is more challenging for those who want to apply and seek admission. I guess they have been saturated with so much applicants that they had to make it more difficult for those future prospect. As for the HESI you have to pass it on the first try, 80% and above, if not, you will have to wait 6 month to retake it again! Crazy! Also, Micro will be factored into the GPA; and Math is a general requirement that is needed as well before anyone applies.

Hello, Im new here. Ive turned in my application for Jan 2013!!!

I think they had to update the requirements because last term there was over 500 people applying for about 200 seats.Its dumb that they updated it now, when alot of people have turned in an application and now dont meet the new standards. I believe I still met all of the requirements.They havent updated my application status.I think I will have 10 points :/ ....."Pre Program Application" is the status, is that what everyone elses is too??

Ive emailed a counsiler about it, I think they should of updated mine by now.I really dont like how you have to hunt people down to get things done at this school!

I just read a post from you regarding Keiser...if you read the PDF. admission policy they have changed it. They made it very clear that GPA and Hesi scores will determine your eligibility to the program. Points are no longer a factor. I just read a post from you regarding Keiser...if you read the PDF. admission policy for BC they have changed it. They require that you take the test two times with a six month gap between them, unlike before when you were able to take it as much as possible to get the score you desired.

I planned to apply for January. Not sure whether I meet the new pre-reqs now though.

Have you completed your Micro? I was told I could take it in the Fall so I took the pre-req math in the summer. So much confusion. Let us know what the counselor tells you once you hear.

Yes I already took micro, micro lab and calculus. I have my bachelors from FAU. I emailed her and she said they are updating everything (applications turned in, but that was last week) she didnt mention the new requirements or anything...I keep looking at my degree audit, i think its messed up( the notes section), i have to email her again.The numbers im calling at north campus arent getting answered :argue:

From catalog on the BC website, CHM1032 is no longer listed as a Pre-req. See below. http://www.broward.edu/academics/programs/Program Sheet Library/2127.pdf

My chem grade just disappeared off of the audit but chem is still in the core requirements for graduation.

Just did. CHM still showing as required. My grade is there.Interesting that Math class I just took to meet the new requirement is not listed as required. In fact, the degree audit shows the 3 math credits and grade as not accepted towards degree.
