Broward College Nursing Program August 2016

U.S.A. Florida

Updated:   Published

Hello!

I just wanted to make a thread for nursing program at BC for this coming Fall semester.

I passed the Hesi last week after 4 days of studying. (Got tired of studying the Elvesier book so I took my chances)

My overall score: 85%. My lowest score's reading: 78% ( English is my second language and I took this section last so didn't have enough time to really read the questions)

I turned in my application last Wednesday. The lady said to look for an email around May- June.

Anyone is applying for Fall? Did your status on myBC change yet?

My fingerprints cleared but it took 10 business days exactly. Therefore, two whole weeks. However, you can submit the receipt with your paperwork, you don't need to have them cleared on complio in order to turn in your paperwork. Just make a copy of your receipt.

That what I did, there is nothing we can do to speed up the process only wait. Mines still pending so I just summited my receipt to nursing department. I am hoping it will be done soon.

Okay thank you everyone. For the folder we turn in we basically put in, copys of our CEU's. Copy of the cpr card(certificate). Copy of the fingerprinting reciept that they give when you go. The physical paper filled out by the doctor. The paper they give you as a reciept when you go do the 10 panel drug screening. And for the background check on complio, we just print out the file they sent of our criminal background check?

Is anyone is South Campus having the finger print "pending status" issue ?

For the background check on Complio, when you log into the website, there is a pop up screen showing what is completed and what isn't...if you scroll down you will see the report link that you can click on it. Print out the first page of it.

You will also need the lab reports from the doctor for physical exam.

My fingerprint took like 2 weeks. You should email them if it has been more than 2 wks.

I'm so jealous you guys are starting Process 1 & 2 in the Fall. I'm stuck here in Process 2 with two tests on Monday. I bet this would have been 40% less stressful if this was a full term=/

Did you buy all the books on the booklist? I don't know if I should rent the books or buy them since they are so expensive but I'm not sure which books we will need to use for the entire program.

I am so happy that I summited my package to school a week before it was due and the dean checked it. I took my shoes with me and have her look at them she answered all of my questions and spent time giving me few tips, I am so thankful for her time. I was so scared to buy shoes and wear them and then to be told I had the wrong shoes. I stop working so every penny counts. Now can really focus on my classes. Micro is kicking my butt lol.

what kind of shoes did you get?

Are you taking the micro in full term of summer? I'll have to take it next summer since I couldn't take it this term.

It has been 3 weeks and I have called American Data base countless times and also attended Broward but it is still on "pending"

I'm so stuck on what kind of shoes to get :( I just want comfy non bulky shoes.

Micro was my favorite! I absolutely loved it. Good luck to you all still taking it.

Me too :(

I found all white leather vans shoes (the black logos on the back can be scraped off) They are skater shoes so it's really comfy and I think it would be better to wear them for 12hrs at clinicals. Did you try on the nursemates shoes?

- all white (no colored logos, colored strips, colored lettering, etc. They're going to tell you to get new ones)

-no HOLES (in all seriousness, you don't want blood/urine/feces all over you.)

payless, foot locker, etc. Bought mine at payless and they work just fine.
