Actually, it will work like this:

You take the letter grade and turn it into a number. A=4, B=3, etc. Multiply that by the number of credit hours the class is. Then you add them all up and divide by the total number of credit hours, which is 14.

    1 .ENC1101 C=2 X 3 (credit hrs)= 6
    2. BSC2085 A=4 x 3 (credit hrs)= 12
    3. BSC2085L A = 4 X 1 (credit hr)= 4
    4. BSC2086 B = 3 X 3 (credit hrs) = 9
    5. BSC2086L A = 4 X 1 (credit hr) = 4
    6. CHM1032 A = 4 X 3 (credit hrs) =12

    Total of 6+12+4+9+4+12= 47

    47/14= 3.35

They do NOT round up or down, so they look at it like a 3.3, which will give you 9 pts, plus 1 for Broward resident= 10pts.

If you get a B in Chem, you will have a 3.14, which is a 3.1, and that is 7 pts, plust 1 for Broward resident, which makes it 8 pts total.

Hey guys! Are they changing your clinical schedule around like they did mine? I registered 1st thing on July 16th and i followed the instructions to pick all my classes from the one page and they still changed my clinical!

Also, how do you find out which hospital each teacher goes for clinicals?

How can you tell they changed your clinical days? Are you going to South? South is the only campus I can see that goes either Tuesday OR Wednesday and not both days. Central and North go both days, and it really doesn't matter which one you register for, you will be assigned clinical groups once class starts.

As far as which hospital......we'll find that out in class, too.

They are not changing my clinical days. They are changing my clinical teacher. Is aggravating because the teacher I picked goes to a closer hospital for clinicals. The other teacher....im not sure where she goes but I think it is farther.
    BTW...im going to central.

Does anybody know which hospitals South campus students go to?

    Dizzy-

I'm not sure whats going on there. At North campus, all the clinicals are listed as TBA, so we don't even know the names of the clinical instructors there.

Same at south campus. My clinical day is on Tuesday. It will be nice to have Wednesday off!

coolie - I was told that south goes to the Memorial Hospitals, like Memorial regional and Memorial West, but I am not sure.

sunray - some of our clinical teachers were listed as TBA but there were a lot that weren't. I spoke to the clinical teacher I signed up for originally since I was in a review class she was teaching and she said that she went to Westside Regional which was nice since it was relativly close to my house. I think the new instructor I was put with goes to Broward General, which is far...like 30 minutes. But oh well....i will work with what they give me, but it would have been nice to have a more convenient hospital to go to.

I was under the impression that it was the same for all campuses regarding the fact that it didn't matter what clinical you actually signed up for because you would be put into clinical groups once class begins. I know it works like this for sure at North, so maybe it works like that at central, too. maybe you can email Twana and ask her. Otherwise, maybe you'll luck out and get assigned to the clinical group that you want.

Yeah...i'll try to give them a call tomorrow just to see. The clinical teacher I signed up with said that they usually have you sign up for the clinicals for Process I and II, but whoever you get for Process I is who you stay with the whole semester....usually. But....we'll see. I'm not going to fret over it, there will be many other things to worry about then this, right? Thanks for your input!

Who knows, maybe whatever hospital you end up at will end up being better than Westside! Good luck with that. At North campus, we won't even go to the hospital until the 6th week, so you guys might be similar.
