Anyone Trying To Get Into Atlantic, Sheridan, or Mcfatter 2012-2013?

In broward county? Or am I the only one? I see the last thread on either one of these schools was from 2011. I'm trying to get into mcfatter for Novembers start date. Orientation was supposed to be Monday but was cancelled due to the storm. So now it's on September 10th. I'm afraid a lot of people may be applying. And that I may not get on. :( was thinking about emailing the counselor and asking her how many they admit each time.

As of last friday they were still taking people for the Nov. class day, and i think march/april evening. I have not heard from them yet, but i was told they dont send out acceptance until about 1 month before class start.

Ok sounds good I will see you at orientation! And thanks for the info im going to see if I can get the physical paper before hand and try to get that done before. Do you know how long it takes for the drug test results?

The drug test, and the fingerprints you just need to have your receipt. If you have all your shots then all you need is an appt for dr. to fill out paperwork or you can drop off at your dr. office. If you have to get titers those you have to wait for the results before you can turn in paperwork.

Ok I have my physical appointment wednesday they gave me my paper early and I think I need titters. Hopefully I can get everything done. I will be so upset if I dont make it in for the novemver class :(

Did you get it from the counselor? Are you going to a clinic or a regular doctor? I'm like you, I'd be upset if I can't get in, but it is what it is. In my head Im thinking "there's like only 25 slots. There's at least 60 or more applying and it's first come first serve" chances are looking slim. I'll also be going to Atlantics orientation too just in case. I was getting really antsy last week, but I told myself that's something I have no control over. :( lol

Titers usually come back within a week. I did not know they gave out the paperwork early. Also make sure you have your transcripts, they also want to see your actual diploma or transcript from HS.

I hope the diploma is enough. Getting transcripts would be a pain in the butt. Since I didn't go to school in broward. I didn't know they gave paperwork out early too. Makes me wanna go on Monday and ask. Cordero did they give you the background check stuff and place to get your fingerprints done too? Or just the physical paper?

Ok good. Legacy, did they say in orientation that if you didn't get in this time, if you'll be automatically put in for the next round? The lady at Atlantic said at their school orientation was 2 hrs long. Is that true?

Not directly. Some wanted to get in for August and she said that was full so right now was the day class-Nov, or evening which was march/april. I am pretty sure if nov. is full when they send the acceptance letter it will just say march which would be the next one. You can email the counselor at Mcfatter she is very nice. Orientation is how long you make it. Mine we did not have many questions, it was not a lot of us there so we were done within an hr, but i can see it going 2 hours or even more.

Sorry you guys, havent been able to come on. I did ask for my physical papers early because my insurance is ending this week so I need it.now to go to the doctor while I still can. Im going to a random doctor I found so well see what happens. When I got my paper she also gaveme the background paper but didnt tell me what to do with it. no drug test paper though :( the actual health building is where I got itnot from the counselor. im crossing fingers hoping if I cant get into mcfatter I can get into sheridan or atlantic in december. But I guess well see. My phyisical is wednesday so I will let you know what happens from there and im goi.g to call about the background check

Hey. I just went to get my fingerprints done this morning. It is downtown near the court house. My advice to you is as soon as you leave the orientation drive straight over there and do your finger prints. All you do is bring the paper they give you to the place and pay the $47 (on a card or money ordeR) and it takes 3 minutes. They said it takes up to 72 hrs to get the results. Also, i just made my drug test appointment for monday at 1 right after the orientation. As soon as you read this. Go to the LabCorp website and schedule a "drug test urine collection" ASAP! This way when you receive the paper at orientation you can go do your drug test the same day! Also, you might want to schedule an appointment with your doctor or clinic for your physical so you can get all of your shots and stuff ASAP!
