I'm in the senior class at TECO. I graduate in December

I graduated TECO December 2007 and am now doing the PCC LPN-RN transmission! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Bumping this thread.. I was looking at the TECO website and it says they only accept applications for admission 4 times a year? Their website does not have much info on it at all.. I just wanted to know when their Practical Nursing program start dates for 2009 were. I couldn't even find a phone # on the site, I'm guessing they like for you to come in person to ask questions, lol. Thinking of going there tomorrow but I live about 50 miles away and didn't want to waste a trip if they just tell me I can't apply right now.

Here is the contact information for TECO! That's where I did my LPN and highly recommend it! You can call, but I definately suggest you drop by too because then you can meet the Instructors and they are the one's that do your entrance interview so it's good to get to know them a little first!

I highly recommend their LPN also. (July 2008 Grad here !)

Its really easy to miss, but on their website they have a link for the admission packet for LPN -http://www.teco.osceola.k12.fl.us/programs/health/NursingPacket.pdf

Fulltime classes begin every Jan and Aug. I am not sure if they are holding another part-time (evening) class or not. If they are, it would start soon, as the current part time class graduates this month, I believe.

Try calling first before driving out. I am not sure when their Spring Break is.

Opps. Sorry. Looks like the part time class has changed to daytime hours according to the new packet at the above link.

Excellent, thanks to both of you.

My boyfriend said that Kissimmee was probably WAY too far for me to commute 5 days a week.. we're sorta planning on moving in with each other later this year, he works in Winter Springs and we were going to get a place in either Sanford, Lake Mary, Longwood or Winter Springs since he needs to be fairly close to his work. He also said that Kissimmee was a "shithole" in his words.. lol. I'm from Lake County so I'm not really familiar.. is this school in a good area? Is it worth the 40 mile one-way commute?

I mean, I'd look into the program at Seminole Community College but it sucks you need 3 pre-reqs to even apply for it so that's a turnoff for me. I'm too late to get into Lake Tech's LPN program for this year - their next program begins in March, no thanks. So TECO and Orlando Tech seem like my only options left.

It is a very good program. I drove 30 miles one way to attend. I would chose TECO again if I had to do it over.

I never had a problem with the area the school is in.

It is close to the Florida Turnpike if that helps with travel for you.

I agree! I drove from Lakeland, almost 40 miles to go!! It was tough at the beginning, but I got used to it! Plus they have a VERY VERY high pass rate on the NLCEX (all our class passed first try!) ! I didn't have a problem with the area either!

Thank you.. but I think I might try out Orlando Tech first, and see how that pans out, it's definitely a lot closer to my future place of residence. If for some reason it doesn't then TECO will have to be my next stop. :)

I just wish Orlando Tech had their LPN info packet online.. grr.. http://www.orlandotech.ocps.net/practical_nursing.html

Best of Luck with which ever option works out!!
