Anyone attending Keiser College?

Well, I had applied and been accepted into Keiser...but the cost was too much...they quoted me about $40,000 and that was just for the nursing courses, I had already taken the prereqs. I'll be starting a community college RN program this fall for a fraction of the costs.

I did know a girl who had attended and she seemed to be satisfied with her education.

Hi, I attended Keiser College for an Associates degree in Business Administration a decision that I regret to this day. Keiser college is very expensive and the job placement rate is low at least at the Miami campus. Most of the people that have had luck in being placed in employment after graduation are bilingual. It's a good thing that nursing is a high demand career field with a lot of opportunities throughout the united states. I found that you a better off attending community college, at least now I realize that and completing my pre-reqs for the RN program. Good Luck!

I have applied for the RN progran at Keiser College - Lakeland. I actually took the NET today, passed and have a spot in the January 2008 class --- I am on the waitlist for the 2007 classes and was told I have a good chance of getting into the Fall 2007 class. In the meatime I have a few classes to take. The cost of the program is high but I like the fact that it is small.

Anyone else attending or has graduated from there?????

I saw the keiser ad on tv for their new nursing program and deceided to call to get more info for a friend that wanted to leave FL. hosp nursing school. I asked all the usual questions:cost, # of people accepted, etc. The operated wouldn't tell me, she just kept saying come to the information session. From that I should have known something was up. So I called my friend and we went down there the next day.

First, the info session started an hour late. Then the power point that was shown was just basic info about nursing, for example there will be over trillion nurses needed by the year 2020, nurses will always have a job kinda stuff we already know. no info about prereqs required, cost,clinicals and things like that. I would think they would have prepared a packet with all this inforamtion in it. When I realized the power point wasnt giving us the information we needed, raised my hand to ask questions. The man simply said to please wait until the end. so here comes the end of the info session. For each question we had he refered us to a different person for example you would need to speak with Diane 2 doors down the hall and Milly in room 24. My friend and I just looked at each other in disbelief. Shouldnt all these people be in the "information session"?!?

After all the run around we finally found out that it cost 500 freaking dollars per credit hour:eek:! I know it is a private college but that is ridculous! I told the lady that they were price gauging(sp?) and was taking advantange of people who really want to become nurses who didnt want to be on a 3yr waiting list. Do you know that woman looked at me and said, " If you really want to be a nurse you would do it no matter the cost. I was :eek: then :angryfire. I couldnt believe that snaggle tooth itch formed her lips to tell me that. Keeping my:cool: I told her I am RN and if this very unorganized "information session" is any indication of how the nursing program is ran I feel sorry for the people who spend $40,000 and cant past the NCLEX and for those who do I feel sorry for those patients they will be taking care of. I grabbed my friend's arm and we walked away.

Wow. Very suspect... Corporate education salesmanship. I don't know anything about the quality of their program so I can't comment in those regards... but the "shock and awe" is pretty nefarious... Might be a fine program for all I know... perfectly legal in a capitalist country but they shouldn't have wasted people's time... At least your experience will help others make a decision.

wow! i am surprised and disappointed about the visit kniru23 had at keiser college. i went to the lakeland campus and was very impressed. they would not give me any information over the phone but i met with a very professional counselor --- i didn't sit through an information session. it is expensive however other private colleges that i have looked into are in the same price range --- my first degree which was 19 years ago cost somewhere in the same range (based on the yearly increase of tuition each year).

I am finishing my first semester at Keiser College in St. Pete and I really enjoy it. I have an AA from St. Petersburg College in Liberal Arts with all my prereq's for nursing at the BSN level and still couldnt get into a nursing program. I went to keiser as a last resort and found the school to be great. I love the small classroom setting (coming from SPC and USF). The instructors I have are great ( 2 BSN's and 1 ARNP). It is expensive...Im paying $19k for LPN, but its worth the time I am saving. I am starting an LPN to BSN program in Tennessee next spring. So far, so good!

I attend the keiser tallahassee campus for their rn program. I find it ok yet somewhat unorganized my class is the 3rd class. so it is fairly new. My pre-reqs were fairly easy until i got to a&p now that was a challenge and we lost a few people in that class. Yes it is very expensive,however i love the small classes, and we only take one class at a time. so i find it very worth my while.

I met with a couselor in Jax and was unimpressed. He lied to me, told me FCCJ only admitted 1X per year and the program wasn't as good as theirs.They called me a few days later and I told them that I was unimpressed because your staff was not truthful about the competition and I also didn't agree with their "matriculation" classes, classes you had to complete before applying to their program so they could "size you up" as one of their students. Yeah buddy, size my middle finger.....

i am currently attending keiser university and love it. it is very expensive but i think worth it since there is a lack of colleges out there with short waiting lists for rn programs. the sizes of the classes are excellent and the professors help a lot!! i have run across some of the recruiting personnel that give you a line when looking at the school. just do your research when looking at schools!

after college i plan to take advantage of the florida loan forgiveness program!!! and i'm thankful that i have gotten $20k in scholarships. one thing i can say is apply for any scholarship you can!!!

The reason there is no waiting list is b/c of the price tag!!! If $$$ is not an option, go for it. They have a great reputation.
