Didn't see this topic posted, so posting now! Trying to see who's applying for FIU's CRNA program since the application window is opening soon!

Does anyone know if FIU evaluates GPA as cumulative, last 60, nursing etc?

Couldn't help but to think all day after my interview of all the things I should've/could've said in the moment ?

Yea, I did the same thing all weekend ?. I know they calculate the science GPA based on pre-reqs only. I feel like most programs look at the final 60 credit hours because those are the ones that really count.

To be honest, I don't know about the GPA. But, during my interview I had mentioned where I did my shadow experience and also work— the interviewer had no idea and sounded surprised when I said it. So it really is a points game.

They said they look at last 60 and your science.

I don't know if any of you remember, but there was a question asked on may 8th interview zoom session about why FIU took off the GRE. What I understood from his answer is that it seemed like we should expect all other CRNA schools (at least in this state) to follow suit because it has been shown that GRE favors people of higher social economic class and taking it as a requirement for admission isn't recommended any longer.  Have any of you heard anything about that from other programs ?

They just finished interviews yesterday. Give them some time ??

Nothing yet. I'm sure we will hear sometime this week. Really praying I can stay at home in south Florida, as I literally just moved in with my husband in a super economic apartment and got it all set up in preparation for this, and I haven't heard from UM after the interview so losing a bit of hope about that, and I had a pretty challenging interview experience. I was hoping to not have to take the GRE for Barry if I get into FIU which honestly has been my top choice. Prayers up for all of us ??

weeks since the interview day to hear back if u r accepted.

It is! But don't send yourself off of the deep end haha. Relax and have faith in knowing that what's for you will be for you regardless.

Well by those numbers , I'm not accepted cause I interviewed on the 29th for UM ha. It really is! But I know we will all end up where we need to be for sure ❤️
