florida eligibility and ssn

Published

hi! good day :)

im currently in manila, ph. i received my eligibility but it states that my application is incomplete because i do not have my ssn and that applications that are incomplete shall expire one year after initial filling (mine willl expire june2009).

i haven't taken the exam yet...(tentatively ill take the exam on december08)

my concerns:

if i pass the exam and still no ssn will my application expire on june?

after passing - and it expired - do i have to retake the exam?

and do i really have to be in florida before june 2009?

please. . . thanks:)

Florida does not issue a license without a SSN#, so there is going to be no way that you will get a license issued to you in that time frame.

You are not going to be able to be in Florida and with a SSN# by next summer, there are no visas available for you. Even if you go to the US on a tourist visa, you still will not be able to get the SSN# as that requires a visa that will permit one to work here legally.

Please take the time to do some reading here on this forum, you are looking at probably about five years before you will get a chance at a green card. Much is also written on what to do about not having the SSN# and maintaining the results of the NCLEX exam so that you do not need to write it again.

Best of luck to you. We are seeing states tighten their requirements all of the time and Florida has become one of the stricter ones in this case over most others.

Suzanne my mother is in California. Is it possible for her to acquire for me a SSN#, if I pass the nclex here in Manila? I'm really keen on working in the US. Thanks in advance!

No your mother can not apply for a SSN for you. You need a valid work/immigrant visa
