Hello Fellow Nurses,
I am hoping someone can help me. On a medical/surgical floor or rehabilitation hospital, after administering a fleet enema to a mostly bedbound/max assist with bedside commode transfer, is there a standard of care that requires the nurse to stay in the room? The call light was documented to be placed within reach, and she was cognitively intact. It was documented that she verbalized understanding of calling the nurse when she needed to get up.
Would most of you that are med/surg have waited in the room or been close enough to see the patient?
Thanks in advance.
