FL NP school/ work question

Published

Hello all,

My wife is currently a BSN/RN in the NICU. She is applying to NP school but is stuck on the route she would like to take. She wants to work in the pediatric ER but would eventually like to transfer into pediatric family practice. The acute care NP is a doctorate and the pediatric family practice NP is a masters, and she would prefer to stay with a masters. Does she need the pediatric acute care NP to work in the ER?

Thanks for any help or insight!

What are the schools' requirements that she is looking at? That will tell you what experience one needs to apply. You get clinical hours assigned for certain areas during the program to give you "experience" ....I chose an FNP program myself, I have LPN and Case Management experience and only 1 yr med-surg...
