HI, I took the NCLEX yesterday and think I failed. The computer stopped at 105 or 106 questions and I felt it was pretty hard. I came home and looked up some of the "easy" questions I remembered and got them wrong. Just wondering cause everyone seems to pass with 75 or 265 questions.

I got my results today and passed!

well done so pleased for you good luck on your future, taking mine in july studying hard finding it hard to remember thou di x icon10.gificon12.gif

I remember my computer shutting off really early and I left feeling the last question I answered was wrong. The last question was in regards to mammograms and radiology and I'm sure I missed this question. I looked it up... asked the whole department and I did answer it incorrectly...however I passed. The number of questions really doesn't matter...I had tons of radiology and infectious disease contamination questions. This is 10 years ago and I can remember it like yesterday. I cried and cried and then called the hotline and it said my name. If nurses had to retake boards every 10 years or so...I think we'd all fail. No one can know all the answers unless you just study for NCLEX and nothing else. I feel your pain people...good luck and it is great to see so many people trying to strive to be a part of the nursing legacy. Go for it!

I took the NCLEX on the 17th of May and found out exactly 48 hours later that I had passed!! Oh, I had 76 questions.

WOOHOOO!!!

I took the NCLEX RN on 5-24-07 in Mobile, AL. The computer shut off at 75 and one of my classmates shut off at 103. I am a nervous wreck at this moment because MS does not participate in "Quick Results." This is a holiday weekend, therefore it will be tomorrow before I can check the board's website to see if my LPN license has been changed to RN. I've only read one thread that stated that they failed at 75 questions. Does anyone else know of someone who failed at 75 questions?

i highly doubt that you failed at 75...you would have to answer incorrectly almost every single question if it shut off at 75. you passed. stay positive...if you had just missed 50% the computer would have kept going on and on until the maximum number questions allowed. remember this is a minimum competency board exam. godd luck and i think you passed!

Thanks for the encouragement. But I'm sure you know how it is after taking this test. Just nerves and going crazy. Thinking "what if I totally bombed it" and thinking about how to react to all the "Did u pass?" questions if I didn't. I personally think that the aftermath of taking the test is much worse than before taking it. And for those who are planning to take the test now, I highly recommend looking at the new test plan on the ncsbn website and taking their review. Think patient teaching!!! That was the main focus (80-85%) of mine.

I'd have loved to have taken a test with only 75 or 265 questions...

Two 8 hour days of testing. Four hours for each section. #2 pencils. A gazillion questions. Six weeks waiting for scored results.

On the plus side, I was only 15 points shy of a perfect score. (2385? 2485? I think perfect was a 2400, but I'm a bit fuzzy on that...)

I found out I passed! YAY!

Does anybody know if Connecticut has quick results or do you have to wait for snail mail? I noticed somebody mentioned Pearson's, do they post results for a fee? I don't think I can wait on results for weeks on end. I haven't taken mine yet, but will be soon, and will want to know the results fast.

Pearsonvue is who we in MS take NCLEX thru. It is a testing agency. They post quick results on the web or by phone for a fee but only if the state Board of Nursing you are sitting for participates in quick results. MS does not, and I don't know if CT participates. Maybe someone else can let bsnnursejlcdas know if CT participates as I didn't know MS didn't participate until after I had taken NCLEX. When I scheduled my test, I received all of the information about calling and checking on the web for quick results only to find out afterwards that it was not available.
