I live just a hop, skip, and a jump from McAllen and want to work in that area but not sure what hospital. I graduate from UT-B in May. At what hospital are you working? PM me and we can discuss the area, the cheap and AWESOME food, and the culture shock---I'm from Washington state!!

    Hi all,
I know exactly how you all feel about not having a job. I was laid off in July and it's been I haven't been able to find employment yet. I live in the south, if anyone have any suggestions, please let me know.

How are you guys even getting interviews!!??? I've applied everywhere in southern california. I can't relocate because, like everyone else, I am in so much debt from school (over $100, 000 in loans plus a credit card bill from moving all my stuff back home from east coast to west coast after school) and my parents can't help me out because they have been let go from jobs and are also unable to find anything. I make 9.38/hr as a manager at a retail store and I do flu clinics on the side. When I call the hospitals after applying they tell me don't bother calling cause "that's not how it works. We'll call you." I applied at every new grad program that has been offered in Southern California and never got an interview. What are you putting on your resume that makes you stand out from the rest? CNA experience? Internal transfer? Please let me know. Just getting an interview would make my day.

I've gotten a couple of interviews, but nothing solid. All I know is, I need a job badly. I had no idea it would take me this long to find employment when I got laid off. If there is anyone out there in the state of Alabama with suggestions, please email me. I'm hoping and praying someone will have something soon.

Laid off, I'm sorry to hear. How many years of experience do you have as a nurse? If you have more than a year you could work through a registry.

I have four plus years experience. What exactly is a registry and how do I go about applying? At this point, I'm willing to try almost anything.

Got the e-mail sorry wasn't selected for an interview. I just don't get it anymore. I sent my application first class, very neat, personal note (short) and I feel like I am a worthy candidate. I have a good GPA, nurse extern experience, cna experience, volunteer field hockey coach for high school (fall season), School nurse experience, and a gym job nurse experience, played field hockey and was captain in college, and I just feel all of that doesn't even matter right now. I know I would make an amazing nurse, and yet on paper we all look the same, who is getting hired anyway, if we are all in this same annoying situation.

I am just getting very frustrated, I have a part-time job right now at a gym as a RN doing health assessments and giving advice about how to lose weight and I am a substitute nurse and teacher at my local schools, but I desperately want to be able to work as a nurse, and show them that I can be an amazing one. I want to be a nurse that people remember an admire, as I am sure we all do, and yet no one will give us that chance.

We know we can excel, and yet no one wants to give us a chance, it is very frustrating.
