Hooray...I landed my first nursing job and it was as easy as falling off a log.
After sending out resumes and applications with little in the way of results I dolled up in business attire (complete with shoes designed by the Marquis de Sade), printed out a fresh copy of my resume and drove 90 minutes to a hospital I was interested in. I walked into human resources, introduced myself and said I was a new grad presenting myself for their consideration. Voila, on the spot interviews with H&R and with the nurse manager of the med-surg floor. They were ready to hire me on the spot and formally offered me the job just a few days later. I'm soooo thrilled, and now I get the satisfaction of telling the other facilities (when they get around to calling me) "I'm sorry, but I've already accepted a position."
