How long can you delay working?

  1. Here's the story:

    Graduated May 2006
    Had baby July 2006
    Passed NCLEX 2006

So, I've basically been a stay-at-home mom since I graduated...I'm officially a Registered Nurse, but I don't have any experience yet. I'm planning to look soon, but does the fact that I've been away from clinical for so long mean that I'm out of luck in getting a job?

I doubt you would have much trouble finding a job but you will probably have to go through some sort of New grad program. Good luck

I also don't think your have a problem. Do your own review of your nursing books and yes each job usually has an orientation program for new nurses. Good luck. Check with your state to find out the required number of hours you have to work to maintain an active license.
