Graduating in June - ISO Career Advice

  1. I am in my sixth (of seven) clinical rotation (which is peds/OB) and I'm starting to interview for various positions. I really enjoyed my time on a med-surg (ortho) floor and I'm leaning towards taking a position there. However, because of my interest in public health (especially in regards to issues affecting children and adolescents), I am curious about peds. I have OFTEN heard that spending your first year on a med-surg floor is highly recommended. We only receive eight weeks of peds/OB (four weeks each) and I'm not sure if that's enough time to REALLY know what it's like to work in peds. Thoughts?
