exorcism

  1. hi. my colleague has just imparted with me her experience yesterday about our patient in the opd section.

a certain muslim teenager was brought by her relatives to our hospital because of some behavioral problems. you see, she was extremely powerful and was yelling to everyone about why 'he' was tortured and killed.

my colleague prayed loudly the "i beleive in god" prayer but was stopped by some hospital baptist watchers who were there coz my partner was not 'cleansed'.

i wonder if you have the same experiences and how did you deal with it. our doctor on duty hid inside her room by the way.:zzzzz

Maybe things are different in the Philippines regarding this kind of thing. Here in New York, how would I have handled it? I'd have called security and had everyone hauled out of there! Just NOT gonna go on in your average hospital!

Then again, if they all walked into a psych unit or a psych hospital, I'm sure there's a different procedure. In any event, there's no way I'd expect (or put up with) my colleague praying loudly over the situation.

    i really appreciate your replying.
yes, things might be different if we have a pshyc unit but sad to say, we don't have one.
nobody in our staff has a specialization in psychiatry too.:hatparty:
i will share to my colleague your views... hope you don't mind.:blushkiss

    What??

Your coworker is reciting a Christian incantation over a Muslim patient? Doesn't that just seem wrong on the most basic level to you?

    thanks for the msg.
well. according to my colleague, the muslim relatives of the patient were taken aback because the patient was talking using a Christian vernacular with a male voice named Carlos. when the grandmother of the patient attempted to pacify her, the former shouted that she didn't understand a thing her grandmother said!:angryfire
a tranquilizer was injected to her but to no avail.

what will you do gen if it happens to you?
