First LVN Job

Published

Hi everyone,

I haven't been around in awhile, I haven't been very happy lately. I started my first LVN job in a long term care facility in March, I've been so depressed lately. I can't believe the sh***t that goes on in this facility, from the CNA's bittering between each other, and a DNS that's not approachable. And not to mention the paperwork that Calif State Law requires if one resident calls another resident a vulgar name. I don't even have time to read a residents chart to see the history on my residents. I have 34 plus residents, meds to pass, tx's to do, doctors orders, and F/U from falls, skin tears, etc.........I live in Calif so I'm pretty much limited to LTC. I was so excited when I got my license, now 3 months later I wished I had never gone through all the trouble and student loans.:sniff:

aww, i just got my license, is it that bad? im in so cal too.

i'm in san antonio, and i was so excited to get me license also but haven't landed my top choice jobs. two agencies have called but that's it and don't want to do that. i'm trying not to get discouraged, but keep checking my phone. these places are always hiring. now i'm running into all kinds of ma opportunites. here lvn's have options and don't have to do ltc, i sure won't.
