Ok....So I am sitting here at work looking at the clock on my desk waiting for 3:30pm to pop up and it is only 8:41am...lol.....Tonight is the the first day of my three day orientation. On the scheduale that was sent to me a few weeks ago it stated that we would be getting ID's ,intro to Nur 1, and a cirricum overview...There will be some additional things to follow tomorrow and on Thur we will be taking the NET test. (I almost freaked out when I saw that, but I called the school and was told that its just a test to see more or less what level each individual is at) They did have us do a few chapeters in a book called Calculate With Confidence(which was alot of review math(which I hate, but trying to develop a friendly relationship with...:chuckle ) It was lots of fractions and decimals and math of that nature. I am so excited and want today to pass fairly quickly!!!!
Can't wait to report to you all on how my first day went. I have worked really hard just to get to where I am. I am a mother of 2 children and work full time at a hospital alreadly. For the past two years have been busting out my pre-reques to get into this progam. So I am so happy that my journey is finally about to begin. I know it will be a long road ahead but I will do the best to my ability to make these 2 yrs go by successfully.....Good luck to all of those starting out like myself and also to you guys a little further along in your studies.....I will def post tonight or tomorrow and let you know how this evening tuns out!!!! :D

Have a wonderful, productive evening, and , by all means, post and let us know how it goes!
Will you continue to work full time while in the program? With kids and school and work, I'll pray that you find enough time for decent rest! Be sure to take care of yourself!

I am SO excited for you! I know that I was at that "can't STAND to wait any longer" stage for over a month, but here I am on the other side, lol.
I send you many blessings and happy thoughts! Enjoy...

Good Luck to you and I wish you well. It is very hard working fulltime with two kids.....I have the same exact scenerio. What sucks for me though is that my company is SO short staffed it makes my job more stressful. Regardless I am anxious to see how your day went.

Thank you to all of you for your well wishes!!! And a special thank you and shout out...lol...to my Big Sis Lilmamita....Thanks for taking me under your wing....You keep doing your thing in school and I'm about to start mine..we will without a doubt have a great year....You are half way there and I am about to start....Like Arsenio Hall used to say "Lets get busy" lol lol
Ok so here is how my Evening went...
After formalities and introductions we took our ID pictures and sat around kind of introducing ourselfs. The dean of the school spoke with us most of the night and seemed very nice and supportive....she said "Consider yourself Nurses from today On" you are simply nurses in training....She was very funny and shared alot of information with us. The program is set up so that there is alot of support for the students. We are each assingned an advisor to help us along the way...For Nursing One we will be covering Nursing Fundementals and Psyc. Nursing. There are about 30 people in the class, people from many backgrounds and walks of life...Only 2 men in the class though. The dean told us that to be proud that we have made it this far because not anyone could be sitting in our seats....Basically she made us all feel welcomed and she said she feels we can all do it. She seemed open and honest...Since it is an eve. program she understands that most of us work and have families...she gave us advice on how to try and study since we will be losing study time the days of classes....All in all I am so excited an ready to get my feet wet.
I have to say that I think it is great to have a website where you can always find support because no one but us students will ever understand what we go through. I look foward to hearing other stories along the way...and if I can give anyone an ear to listen just drop me a line...I don't know all of you but I do know that we all will make it!!!!!!
