First day as an LVN is tomorrow! Nervous/excited.....

Ok so all I looked forward to in nursing school was this day! So I got through school, passed NCLEX and finally gotmy license in the mail. So tomorrow is my big day, and I am actually abit nervous and scared. Not of doing the job,but that I'll forget everything I learned in school. I graduated with honors, got the award for most proficient clinically and still I am nervous. I suddenly feel incompetent.

I went out and got a new notebook in hopes of getting more organized. As a CNA I only used my binder to clip my itake sheet onto, but for Nursing I have a different idea of how I want to use it. I cleaned out my bag, got new pens and hi-liters, made sure my drugbook is packed and still......Yep, I'm nervous, but excited! Does this make sense??? I mean, I know I graduated, I passed boards, I have a license that says I am a Nurse, but I don'tfeel like a nurse yet! LOL! Maybe after my first shift tomorrow it will hit me! I HOPE SO! OMG! Here I go! in less than 12 hours I will be taking report on my patients!

Ok ......off to get my kiddos settled, take a shower and get my scrubs ironed :-)

congratulations and good luck

nobody feels like they have it all together the first day or the first 100 days but every day you will gain more knowledge and confidence, three days before you retire you will know everything

just joking but hang in there, you will do fine

I do know exactly how you feel i just started my first job a week ago since graduation and i love it, i think it is just a matter a breaking the ice and stepping foot on the floor, you'll do fine :}
