your first day on the job .

okay nurses,tell me what it was like on your first day of your new life as a nurse.were other nurses and doctors running around talking like "give me 10 cc of this and take so and so to or?did you just jump in or stand back and watch in awe?

First day as a student nurse, an RN told me to go work with one of the auxillary nurses which = unlicensed practitioners, I spent the day following her around frightened of my own shadow. It was a female orthopaedic ward over 65's, dunno about doing any thing technical but I quickly learn't how to bed bath patients. My biggest mistake on my first ward was I bathed an old lady with a plaster cast on her leg I did think to cover it with a huge plastic bag but water did seep in and she had to have it renewed, thought I was going to be struck off before i had started lol :chuckle
