Finished with 3 subjects in 6 weeks

Been in lpn school for 6 weeks and we are now done with 3 total subjects. Iv therapy, medical math and PVR. Moving onto fundamentals. I'm ready for the good stuff.

Any advice on keeping my mind on book work until clinicals start in January?

The only thing I can think is if you don't keep up with your books you might not get to do clinicals. Our subjects don't work the same way we take all 7 classes for this semester at once, I think I'd like to get rid of a subject or two throughout the semester.

Just keep reading on what they give you.

My program continuously throws course after course. For a good month I thought we were doing medsurg, but it turned out to be pharmacology. Most of the time i'm not 100% sure what course im taking, but im doing well.

My suggestion would be to get a good nclex review and do nclex questions. Do at least 20 a day. The ones that you get wrong read the rationals. The best book that I got was the Saunders comprehensive review. It breaks it down by systems. Also, you can go online and they have a Leif question bank and when you do quizzes , it also allows you to pick what you want to be tested on. This will help you with fundamentals, critical thinking, and such. I have about 3 weeks left of the first semester and now it's times to get ready for finals. We have 2 weeks of straight skills lab and no lectures, so fingers crossed on studying and skills. Apparently over half of our class is failing fundamentals. It either comes easy to people or you really have to work at it. Good luck!
