We had out last day of our 6 month new nurse:nurse preceptorship yesterday. 60 new nurses were taken on in september and we have had 2 weeks in the class room geting induction and learning seesion as well as 5 study days since them.
we have precetpors on the ward and get comptency signed off like meds and iv drugs.
it one of the best preceptroships in my area.
Anyway in the afternoon everyone did a 5 min presentation and we all passed. our ward manger was present. I'm going to miss the group as it was nice to share woth people how hard it is to be a new nurse. The best bit was hearing from people that they found it hard to but now we are all coming through the other end. Some of the people to admit they struggle were in my nursing diploma cohort.
it the same feeling as finishing my nursing course.:hpygrp:
