Excuse me if I posted this in the wrong area, but I just filled out an application for DaVita as a day shift dialysis nurse. I have no experience as a nurse whatsoever (I graduated from my ADN program in May 2014, passed my boards in August 2014, and I am in my final semester of my BSN program)
The job description said that new grads will be considered and they are willing to train those with no experience (yay!)
On the application, it asked me what my expected salary was (I had to answer it, it would not allow me to leave it blank). Seeing as I am a new nurse with no experience, I put in 22 an hour thinking that was reasonable and I did not want to put a number too high for fear that they would not consider me. (although I do not know the starting annual salary for new grads in any setting besides what I get from google searches. I don't want to ask my fellow new grad nurses I go to school with how much they make.. it seems rude) I also saw on the dialysis staff nurse salary thread here on allnurses many nurses were saying they were getting 22-26 an hour as a new nurse with no dialysis experience.
After I submitted my application as I continued to browse the dialysis staff nurse salary boards, I saw that other nurses who had no experience working for DaVita were getting paid 29 dollars an hour starting and I fear that instead of putting in too high of an amount, I put in one far too low.
tl;dr does places like DaVita have a minimum starting salary for dialysis staff nurses? If it helps i live in the western new york area. Thanks!

I would guess that they probably have a salary chart based on experience and certification, and you'll be paid accordingly regardless of what you put on your app. GL!

Good luck, I hope you get the job!
If you don't, next time you go for an interview try to find out average salary first for the company.

Thanks! I hope I get it too haha.
I've read on here that a good way to answer the salary question is to ask what the budget for that position is and go from there. Unfortunately I haven't interviewed with them (yet! fingers crossed!) it was on the online application so there is no real graceful way to go about it haha
Thank you for your response!
