fetal circulatory circuit

I have read this section 3 times and i'm not sure if I really get it.

I am reading about he fetal circulatory circuit. I guess its different after birth. The umbilical cord will be cut so the flow is different when the baby starts breathing air.

The umbilical artery becomes a ligament. the more starts going through the liver. I guess what is really throwing me off are the levels of oxygen saturation. Before its very high in the umbilical vein cause its the part coming from the placenta. then its high in the aorta since its coming out of the heart oxygenated... hmmm maybe I do get it more. Writing it out helps.

Did anyone else have a hard time with this section in oB?
