So, yesterday I was feeling a tad bit sorry for myself with all the whining, sorry about that. Anyway, today I have been exploring all my options and have come up with a new game plan and I am much calmer for it today!! :)
I registered today for a pharmacology class in a nearby college, online, and a once a week medical terminology class here locally. I figure I was wanting to take these anyway. Also, I am dangerously close to completing a lib art degree. So I figured however long it takes me to complete my final pre req physio, and get through the waiting time and the NS, I'll finish that up and that will be my back up plan. I can still help the old folks and maybe even try both feilds out, who knows!! Killing a few birds with a stone or two is not going to hurt me. I'll keep busy and do what I really want to do at the same time. I really want to work with the elderly. Social work is very important, too. Nursing is my first and ultimate goal here, don't get me wrong, but it can't hurt to have an alternate plan, right?
Sorry to gab on so much, I guess I just got a new breath of fresh air in me today. Chin up and all that, right?

Yay! I'm so glad you're feeling better.
I understand it can get frustrating at times. Believe me, I'm going on 2 years of prereqs now after 4 1/2 for my BA in Psychology! Just ready to be in NS now!
Keep your chin up and keep reaching for your goals! You'll make it!

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm in the social work field. Just know that you really either: (1) work for Child Protective Services (2) become a therapist or (3) get one of the few jobs that doesn't fall into (1) or (2). You also really need a Master's Degree to make anything livable. I would strongly suggest working on saving some money during this downtime that you have. Anything that you can bank before you start nursing school, I'm sure you will be thankful for later on. Especially with the economy the way it is.
Good luck in whatever path you take...and sorry if I'm a bit jaded in my current profession...probably why I'm leaving it ASAP!
