While I find it a little icky, if it works, more power to the people who are willing to a)poop in an ice cream pail b)have someone else's poo inserted into their body and c)actually medically direct and perform the transport.

Is it strange that the one thing here that really bugged me was the fact that she carried her poop on the plane? I really wouldn't want to be on that plane. Why not go to her sister first, and poop in the ice cream pail there? Naaaasty :)

No toilet seats are definetly not square in Canada lol unless they are a "new thing" haha

ok one important question...why did the sister take the fecal samples on her with the plane??? Why didn't she fly in five days early and THEN uhhh "collect" the samples to give to the doctors?!. You think that would have been alot easier and less gross...c'mon I wouldn't want to be carrying around jars of it on the plane...haha I feel bad for the person sitting next to her!

:uhoh3:

I wonder if she broke the 3-1-1 rule?

Also, its a bio hazard. I'm pretty sure thats not allowed

Ok, we do, see, smell, touch, some really gross stuff. I have seen stuff other people wouldn't believe. Really, I have and I'm sure most of you have, too.

But this is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard of. I don't think it would really bother me to help with the procedure, but to imagine a person with another persons, ummm, waste in their body, that I don't think I could handle!

Talk about a "natural" remedy! I guess if it works, thats great, but yuck!

As gross as it is...i've seen it done. And suprisingly, it worked. Ive only seen it once and it was a last resort when nothing else was working...but by far the grossest treatment in the book! :spin:

regarding the subject of this thread, whatever happened to eating yogurt and taking acidophilous pills? This sounds absolutely revolting.

I was wondering that myself. I took acidophillous myself one time when my surgeon tried me on a new antibiotic. I can't remember what the antibiotic was - it was new, and the pharmacy had to send out for it. Within a few days I was sick, and had such a gastrointestinal thing going on, that the doctor stopped it.

I took the acidophillus after that, and it helped so much. I told the surgeon about it, and now he advocates that people take it after an antibiotic.

Love the link... can't wait to suggest it!

About the toilet competition... I am American, raised with the American toilet, lived in England, France, and now Australia, so with authority I can enter the toilet judging.

My opinion is that US toilets are the worst by far. I have spent so many years getting my poo instantly sucked away when I push the button. When I come back to the states it is too weird to see it go around, and around, and around.... like it is on parade, than finally down. Yeah, I don't need to see all that!

Yeah, but they don't have enough water in the bowl and the poop sticks to the sides. American toilets are superior!:trout:

my first thought when i started to read this was to check my leg to see if someone was pulling on it

\advise from a doctor about antibiotics in general was to take yogurt and a fiber [like metamucil]

i know some people who work at the local airport, no sense of humor what so ever, don't try that here

But only a handful of doctors in Canada are willing to undertake the unpleasant procedure which involves taking a healthy person's fecal matter and transplanting it into a person infected with C. difficile.

They cite sanitation reasons for their hesitation.

Wussies.

Sorry, that part of the article just made me :lol2:.
