FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

I know it is kind of early to start this thread but I thought maybe there were some others out there who are planning on applying for fccj/fscj fall 2010 RN program. Hope you will post on this thread!

I did mine for free on http://www.epassportphoto.com/.

That's so funny...I did the same exact thing!!! :D

Too funny. So here's the question - how many photos did you take (until you had one you liked)?!

Let me put it to you this way...I got one heck of a workout setting up the camera, run to the wall, take the picture, run back to the camera, delete the horrible picture, reset the camera, run back to the wall, take the picture, run back to the camera, delete the horrible picture, reset the camera, run back to the wall....you get the idea.

LOL! I did the same - glad my Dad had a tripod.

Hey everyone I have some more questions

Is it best to take the paper version of the NAT or the electronic version? I heard that North and Downtown campuses offer the paper version. U can go back and check stuff on that but on the electronic part it locks u out. However the paper version takes up op 6 weeks to be graded.

My other question was is it true if you made a C in any of the courses required for the program you cannot retake the courses at FSCJ you would have to take it at a different college in order for a better grade to count. That you could only retake a class if you failed it prior in order for it to count towards the program.

I hope I explained that enough for you to understand. You get what I'm trying to say? LOL!

I cant speak on the paper version. I would rather have the instant results. On the computer version, you can review the section you are working on, but once the timer ends you cant go back. When I took it the second time I got a MUCH higher score. The thing I did differently on the 2nd one was on the sections I still had a lot of questions left, I stopped when the timer had 2 minutes left and scanned thru and answered the easy ones and guessed at the rest...no penalties for wrong answers, so just get them all in. I had to do that on the math section. 1st time I ran out of time and left a lot blank.

At FSCJ, you CANNOT retake a class if you got a "C" or better. You would have to retake somewhere else.

okay got ya! Thanks again! :-)

Considering I had to decline my seat for Summer Term N/W because the classes will be held at the North Campus instead of Deerwood, I have to reapply for the Fall Term N/W classes. So, I really DO hope we become classmates because that will mean I actually got in (for the third time!)

I spoke to a VERY reliable source just yesterday about where the nights/weekends classes will be held and she said it will definately be in the Deerwood Campus. Apparently, FSCJ has a rotating schedule, all the way out to 2044 (!), of where the N/W classes will be held. Fall term will be in Deerwood, then get this...there will be N/W classes for Spring 2011 term (also in Deerwood) but no N/W classes for Summer 2011 term. Then the N/W will start back up again for Fall 2011 term, but at the North Campus.

So, anytime you have questions of where the classes will be located, they can just look at the predetermined schedule and advise you (good thing to know!)

Do you know if they are still panning to have a Spring 2011 n/w class? I didn't realize that typically there isn't.

I really have no idea if they are still planning on having the N/W option for Spring 2011, but that is what I was told. Whether or not the school actually DOES have the option during that term is strictly up to them (and able to change at any time...there, that's my disclaimer) :)

MLTinJax - I filled out the 150% rule appeal form as well as a typed letter of explanation on why I'm appealing. The checklist in artemis also needed me to provide all of my w2 and tax returns from 2009. I plan on dropping all of that off today at FSCJ. I hope mine is a mistake, it would be really awful to not receive any aid to help pay for school after I made it this far.

Jenjt83,

Were you granted financial aid? I fall under the 150% rule and now worried I may not be able to continue if no aid is granted. I'm a summer 2011 hopeful. I filled out FAFSA a week ago and they asked me all kind of verification. Thanks for your help.

I did all of the same info and I was still denied. I even went and met with the Dean and it didn't help. :-( That's not to say you might not get an approval. But on a good note we just finished up 1st term and are on to term 2! I found a way to pay for my classes. :-) Good luck!!!!!

Now I'm worried.
