Okay...I did it. I mailed off my fall 2010 application to FSCJ today. I'm applying with 210 points and nervous about getting accepting. I've put a lot of hope into this career change. Whew!!

FYI to those that applied for the Summer....they are still filling seats! I was called yesterday and told that another seat opened up and I was next on the list. I declined the seat since I've already been accepted into another program. Good luck!

Does anyone know of any good study books for the NAT test? I'm re-taking it next week, and I particularly need to do well in natural sciences. This NAT score is the only thing keeping my pts down at around 193, and that scares me! Its too bad I made some Cs 7 years ago when I first started college and took all my general eds, I'm definately paying for it now! :( Also, are there any LPNs applying for this fall's ADN program?

My NAT score was low too. Everyone said it was easy but I thought is was hard. I have mostly A's and 2 B's, and I am going to have to retake it to get my points higher. I have heard people say that you can't really study for it and that books dont help. I bought the Arco study book but it didn't help me at all. Natural Science was tough for me too

I didn't use a website, but used the ARCO book. I used it as a kinda review just to get back into the mode of testing. The biggest advice I would give you is to relax going into the test, in the math portion do the easiest ones then go back to the hard ones, read the questions in the reading comp so you know what to look for when reading the paragraph. Just a couple of test taking tips. I got 112.64 after the calculations...

Hi everyone,

This is my first time on this site!

I couldn't believe that I've just spent about 3 1/2 hrs reading this thread and the others about RN at Fccj, they are so helpful. I'm one of you all who hope to get in the program for the fall 2010. I finished all my prereqs and waiting for retaking NAT on the 28th, so I can drop of my application, hopefully by the same day.

I saw somebody recomended for highlighting all the prereqs' grades on the transcript, I think that is a good idea, but is that acceptable?

Can I apply for both daytime and night/weekend? If so, do I just put 1st and 2nd in front of each option in the application?

Just want to double check this with you all, there are only 3 things (application form, transcript, and the NAT scores) that you need to be submitted in the application package, and we don't need to have CPR certification unless we get accepted, right? I'm not sure because they keep changing it!

Thanks!

Good luck to you all.

I highlighted my classes on my transcript and they did not say anything. Yes you only need the application, your NAT scores, and your transcript. CPR certification is not needed when you apply but is needed before you start. Good Luck!

I have one more question as well:D

I took API at SJRCC, and they count your lecture as one grade (3 credits) and lab as one grade (one credit)

FSCJ counts it as one grade (4 credits) as you know.

If I got a B in lecture and an A in lab, how would I calculate that in terms of points when I apply to fscj nursing program? I'm applying soon and I just want to make sure I get it right.
