Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
I think so, I just had a friend thats a guy graduate from the nursing program and he said it was rough sometimes being a man in this field especially during clinicals cause the little old ladies were modest and refused to let him care for them but he toughed through it and im sure you will do the same! so im excited to see you there man!
My friend's grandma is in the hospital right now and is apparently relentlessly flirting with her male nurse, lol. Poor guy.
i think we might be talking about the same place. they do have a panera there.
lol...yeah..its not far at all. we can just hop right back on 295 north and get off of 95 north and its the first exit. its good to know we think on the same page. no one..not even me..could miss it. my friend and i have met there a couple of times. i really like it!!

hahaha...this is too funny. We're going to have problems like this with older male patients too ladies. I volunteered at a nursing home for a bit and we had to be careful about our shirts. lol..the male patients there could be lil horn doggs sometimes:no:. Sorry for my lack of political correctness, but you have to be careful.
Just checking in with everyone., catching up on the posts. Hey I've been reading alot about worksource. Is it still possible to apply and how would I go about doing it? I live by Bishop Kenny High School near San Marco and don't know where one is. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ya'll. I know financial burdens being alleviated would help me breathe easier. I applied for financial aid and will get a pell. Now what?
Just call your nearest worksource. I don't know what their guidelines are with the Pell but they are secondary which means they'll cover whatever part of tuition and books that the Pell doesn't. You'll need to fill out a bunch of paperwork and bring in your tax stuff, birth certificate, etc. They're usually pretty quick but call them soon.
Ok guys. I not I have not been part of this board very long and I don't make to many comments but I need to say this. I am having Lasik surgery on Monday so I am probably going to be in sunglasses during orientation. Mainly because I can't wear eye makeup for a week and I'm 40, so that's not good! I'm telling you guys this so I can eliminate a few people from secretly whispering that I look dumb or must think I am cool! I assure you that will not be the case. Now I won't have to dress a certain way or wear a green dot. I will be the pathetic, stupid, makeupless person in sunglasses!

Awww...don't think that anyone is going to be looking at you funny. You will be fine and your most definitely NOT stupid. Everyone is going to be feeling awkward and nervous the first day. We will all be there with you.:wink2:
I live super close to you ! on old st augustine rd, and you have to go to work sourse on southpoint road, near salisbury road,because of where you live Im working with a man named mr skinner he is really really nice, i met with him yesterday and i get the pell grant as well and they might still cover my books! yay! you should definitely try all they can do is say no right

Sweetie, you live in FL, everyone wears sunglasses inside!! So you will be fine :heartbeat. I would not sweat it. :loveya:
