FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

I'm in for Panera after orientation!!! I am sure we all will be hungry.

Specializes in none.

Okay...so I'm extremely cautious about who I choose for a professsor because I've had some bad experiences. So...I went onto ratemyprofessor.com and wrote down all the nursing professors that were either good or had a hot pepper. Here they are by last name:

I still have so much to do: titers, ppd, drug test, passport photo, physical....

I plan to finish up Tues & Thurs. This has been sooo stressful. I so planned to have all of this done like a week ago. But I still think I can have it done by deadline. Besides, one of the past students told me not to even sweat the small stuff. What ever we don't have completed or correct, they will tell us at orientation. They won't just kick us out for missing a document and stuff.

But, hopefully no one is late like me :)

Specializes in Intensive Care Unit.

Trust me, bossladii, I'm on the same boat.

I got my medical stuff done yesterday. I go back for the results on Wednesday.

So much for a vacation. Haha. I should have gone back earlier. LoL.

Specializes in cardiac.
I also wanted to know where worksource could be found. I hope I can go to Kent Campus...thats sooo much closer to where I live.

Nope we Kent campus doesn't do the indock stuff. I am dealing with the Navy college, but I know Kent campus only does the taking of the time sheets and getting our book vochers, etc.

Specializes in SNF / med/surg-tele.

If anyone is near Fleming island the worksource rep there is Mary Ann nabywaniec her number is 213 3888 x2062 I have a mtg with her today hopefully all goes well... Do the HepB shot records have to be within the last year? What document do they want as far as certified background is concerened? I've got to take care of that fax today whew that was a lot lol

The shot records for Hep B don't have to be within the last year. But you need a titer done that shows immunity. Everyones body if different so just because you have had the shots doesn't mean you are immune. That is why you need the titer done or you could just sign the decline form. I turned in my receipt for the background check and the whole thing printed offline from their website. That might have been a bit overkill. Good Luck.

Yeah! I love worksource, I had my appointment with my case manager so my tuition and books are covered. This has made my millennium. Aside from the good news, I got my car back today. $900 to fix. Ouch! Thank God for worksource. What a blessing without that I don't know if I would have any books to go to class with. :bowingpur:bowingpur:bowingpur:bowingpur:bowingpur This will probably be the only time I say this in my life. Thank You Goverment!

Yeah, Worksource covered my books too. Now I'm just waiting on the Financial Aid appeal so that I will have money for gas to the North Campus. That reminds me, I am totally open to any ability to carpool from the Southside. I live off of Atlantic and work at the South Campus.

For the names of professors, Steward, Figueroa, and McCullough were not on the list. Those are some of mine and I am not too sure if there are any others missing.
