Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
The Rubella says 1.76...but the little chart below says : > or = 1.10 (positive - rubella antibody detected)
My sister is a RN at Mayo and she told me that sometimes people will have chicken pox but not a very bad case of it and they won't be immune to it. So I would say still get the titer. As for the Rubella I think the numbers your said should be fine. I talked with Cheryl James and she told me that if you don't turn something in they will tell you at orientation on the 7th they won't just kick you out without the chance to fix it.
Congrats Waiting on 08!!!!
You have to get all of your Medical stuff done. It seems pretty cheap at Northside Medical.
You have to go online and order a background check. Then fax them the form.
You need to get an appointment for fingerprinting.
I'm sure there is tons more.....I just made a huge list and went through it though.
Okay...so I got the last of what I needed for the program today. Yay!! I ran into Jayme at Florida Specialty. It was sooooo nice meeting you. I can't wait until the program now. I am enjoying every second I have left and living it up as much as I can right now. Seeing friends and taking time for ourselves is not going to happen very much once we get started. Its going to be crazy!!
Congratulations WaitingonAug08!!!!! You deserve it!! I'm soooo excited and happy for you. Welcome to the craziness!! In all honesty when you first open up the packet, you immediately become overwhelmed. But it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You just need to set up appointments immediately and get cracking on the ordering. Everything will be fine.
Kodiakgirl- I got an e-mail that said my orders from Merridy's will be shipped to me on July 30th. Look out for an e-mail. So we should get the stuff way sooner than what they projected. I would love to get mine as soon as possible in case some of the items don't fit..yikes!!! Lets hope they do.
Well ladies..Its 2:00 am and I'm still awake. Hope everyone has a Great night and Wonderful Day tomorrow (today)..lol.
Yes, I just got that email too. I guess it takes a little while with the nametags. I'm with you, I want to try them on to make sure. My pants are folded and ready to go. I got a little bookcase just for nursing stuff but somehow it's filled already with other books! I've got to get more organized.
one more thing, if you haven't already gotten your stethescope, blood pressure cuff and all that other good stuff someone told me about a website that has pretty good rates. Its www.allheart.com I went on last night and ordered my stethescope, bloodpressure cuff, a plastic watch and a pen light and was even able to go ahead and personalize my stethescope with my full name.
