hi there!
i'm a new rn, orienting to an oncology floor. i've been reading the "what's in your pockets?" thread and found many good tips as well a few laughs. now i'm wondering what type of scrubs or gear do you find works best on your floor.
after nursing school i hoped to wear some of those cute fitted outfits. but i find i never really wear the one i bought, instead i reach for the cargo pants and a baggier top with large hem pokets to carry stuff with me. i like the cargo pants because i can carry stuff and still sit, crouch, kneel etc without stabbing myself in the belly button!
my fav pair has 4 cargo pockets on the legs. it has one large pocket on the left that i keep my pda (in a silicone skin) and stethoscope. one the right i have a three in one pocket. my sticky notes and alchohol swabs are in the cellphone pocket, scissors in the scissors pocket and a carpujet and saline flushes in the large pocket. i wish they came with the sewn in tape for clipping things to. i have a pocket organizer that i clip in some of my tops, but i'd rather have it on my leg.
for those of you who wear cargo pants or use other pocketed gear... what do you like best and why??

These are my absolute favorite - Dickies unisex cargo pocket pants.

Excellent customer service from Lydia's too. :)
LOL - like lots of clothes, the "fitted" scrubs and "mini" tops look great until you actually move ...

I like Cherokee Workwear cargo pants. These guys have them at $10. There's no place cheaper.

I like the Landau cargo pants... I find mine on allheart.com, I like Dickie's scrubs too, but there are Dickie's scrubs with elastic waist but no drawstring. So if you go for the Dickie's, make sure you are getting the one's you want... the pair shown above has the drawstring, which I am going to try from Lydia's. I didn't know they made them like this (drawstring/not elastic), although it's the sandwashed collection and I am not sure they will exactly match the colorways on my non-sandwashed collection tops if I replace my normal bottoms with them. The Landau has the elastic waist and a drawstring. But I definitely find I need cargo pockets, the same amount/same style every day because I have a system as to where I keep things.

I second that. Those are my favorites, too, and I just ordered from Marcus Uniforms for the first time. Incredibly great prices and fast delivery! (only $5.00 through UPS). I HIGHLY recommend them.
other than the size, how's the quality of these sets?
i noticed they're 65 cotton/35 poly...which i prefer that combo.
do you still wear them?
do they last?
I finally got smart and googled 7pocket cargo scrubs and found these- S.C.R.U.B.S. brand at Smart Scrubs.
The pockets are tricot lined... slippery to make retreiving your goodies easier. They have poly/cotton, cotton and denim versions.
Has anyone tried these? They're spendy compared to some of the others, but I'm salivating just typing abut them, LOL.
With pants like these I could tuck in my top!

They're well constructed and last and I still wear them.
The legs are tapered.
The fabric is fine, BUT they come with a lot of sizing in them so I would stick 'em in the wash and keep setting the cycle to agitate for awhile. They feel great after the third wash.

I LOVE SmartScrubs cargos...they're all I wear now. Yeah they're pricey, but they are so soft and comfortable, long-lasting and they come in tall sizes (I'm only 5'6", but a lot of the other cargos only come to my ankles). You can even wear them to the store and stuff without feeling like you just came from work. Lots of colors, too. Try them, you'll love them
