hello all! i applied for the fall 2010 program at ivy tech columbus. should i get accepted...i feel it would be very beneficial to get to know some others who will be applying to the fall 2010 columbus rn program. its always nerve wracking to walk into a class where you know no one. so, those of you that will be applying to the fall rn program as well.....lets get to know each other!

i took the teas yesterday for the second time and scored an 81. i went to the nursing dept. and they advised me to go ahead and apply without taking it a third time. ive got 4 a's to total 120 + 81 on the teas and 3 points for region gives me 204. ive been reading alot of threads on the points it takes to get accepted and alot of others are saying you want mid to high 80's on the teas. so, now im wondering if i should have gone against their judgement and taken the teas a third time to try and get a higher score. ugh! its going to be a long wait till june 15th when the letters are mailed out! anyone else feeling the stress yet?

congratulations! i am actually looking ahead on this forum, lol. applying in april for august 10 rn program at the same school :) thought id tell you though i have a girlfriend who had the 4 A's, 80 on TEAS and 3 region points and got in last year in august, so hopefully you are just fine :)

good luck to you!

Yes. That helps me feel alittle better I suppose. :) Have you taken the TEAS yet? Will you be applying to any other campus or just Columbus? Im considering applying to Indianapolis also but Im really hoping to get into Columbus.

I read your other posts. I see you have children too and you are a stay at home mom as well. I have a 15 month old little boy. I cant imagine having two at the same time! One is hard enough! I love it though. School has definatley helped to break up the monotony of staying home all day. Its actually kind of a stress relief to get away and go to class. Ive had to do all evening classes though so that the hubby is home. Are you only doing online classes? What other classes do you have left to complete? I have this spring semester. Chemistry, Micro and Techical Writing and Im done! Looking forward to having the whole summer off before starting the program. That is ..... if I get accepted!

Hello to all,

My sister and I will both be applying to Columbus. I recently took my Teas and scored horribly on it. I have plans to retake it next week. I've heard that Indianapolis is one of the hardest to get into, but I would apply to all that you can.

Yes. Ive heard that about Indianapolis too. I was going to apply to Indy as well as Columbus but have decided not to. Ive heard Indy is VERY competitive and Id rather have Columbus. So, I figure Id get accepted to Columbus before I would Indy anyway. Have you just taken the TEAS the one time? I didnt do well my first time either. Now that you know what the test is like it makes it easier to study for it the 2nd time around. There are alot of posts on this website about the TEAS that helped me to know what to study for.

I've just taken it the one time, but I plan to take it 2 more times before the deadline. I honestly feel like there is just too much to study for. The chances of me actually studying for what happens to be on there is unlikely, but I know it won't hurt. I live in Avon, so Indy would be the best place for me to get into, but I know its very unlikely. Its unfortunate that they turn away so many good students.
