Failing prometric/did not complete; what to put on resume

Published

So I know that if you fail the prometric 3 times or do not become certified within 2 years after completing nurse aide program then you'll need to retake the course again.

To start off, I got my nurse aide program certificate of competence in summer 2016 but pretend that I failed my prometric/didn't complete on time and had to retake the class in fall 2018 and passed the prometric then...

Would I put on my resume just the summer '16 certificate of competence, leaving out fall '18, and put down date of CNA?

Or...would I put fall '18 certificate since it would be the most recent and erase summer '16 since it would be invalid/"expired" with CNA date?

Or...would I record both '16 and '18 nurse aide courses completion; including date of CNA?

I actually didn't even take the prometric yet and I've got 2 months to do it. I'm scared and not confident and even when I've worked as a non-CNA for a while, we didn't do everything by the book and how I was taught in the program compared to the job. Some skills are done differently in some facilities like how wipes were used at my job but for the program we had wash cloths since prometric does that way. I've checked prometric skill demo videos and they're also different from each other and what I was taught so I don't know which to study and reheorifice...

So I'm just gonna prepare to fail. I'm just worried about what would be on my resume. I'm already incompetent if I have to retake it at all but at least it doesn't say up front that I did, you know, like the 3rd option I suggested earlier. The first 2 options seem better since it hides one or the other date of the certificate so I'm not necessarily lying, the facts are just not all there. I just don't want to embarrass myself right away when my employer looks at my resume and instantly notices the retake and prevents me from working in a hospital, since when if I am certified I just cant be trusted.

What would be the best option for me to put down on my resume regardless if it makes me look bad or not.
