Failing the NCLEX twice.

Published

I could sure use some encouragement and tips. I failed the NCLEX twice already and now I'm a little discouraged and scared that I will fail it again... Though I've started the Hurst review a couple of weeks ago, I don't know if I'm on the right track!...Any suggestions?

@Braxie: Thank you! And you are right! We've been through the worst part already which was nursing school! Like you said we don't have a choice but to pass it which with God's help, perseverence and determination we will have the RN at the end of our name! Hang in there and stay positive! Thanks again!

@Braxie: I have the Lachariry book for delegation and all... I would recommend you purchase it! It's a very good book!

I took the NCLEX RN 3 times but I'm finally an RN, so yes, I completely understand how discouraged you are and how frightening it can be to be studying and taking it again.

The first 2 times I took it, I used the HURST review program, and yes, it does have excellent content in review, however, it lacks in the preparation in "how to answer an NCLEX RN question". And that was my main problem, I may know my content, however, my test-taking skills were horrible! LOL.

When I tried out the KAPLAN QBank questions, I loved it! I encourage you to stick with HURST but don't spend too much time and dwell too much on content, because, there's literally way too much information in the field of nursing and the NCLEX RN will randomly pick your questions for you so you have no idea what topic or scenario they'll give you. Get KAPLAN, too!

The reason why KAPLAN QBank questions helped me pass the 3rd time around was because it trained my brain in eliminating the answers to get to the correct #1 priority answer. Their Decision Tree works wonders in 90% of any NCLEX RN review question!

HURST is good. KAPLAN is GREAT.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thank you for the words of encouragement and the tips!... Congratulations on your success!... How can I get the Kaplan qbank? Do I have to sign up for the Kaplan review in order to acces them? Thank you! :)
