Failed NCLEX twice take again in 2 weeks

Published

Hey guys, I am in need of some major motivation right now. I have taken the NCLEX 2 times now and still can't seem to pass it. I have scheduled to retake it in almost exactly 2 weeks. I have been studying really hard the past month and a half and I've been using completely different technique this time. The first time I took it I took 237 questions before it shut off and I automatically knew I failed. This last time I took all 265 but still did not feel confident afterwards. I did Kaplan before the 2nd try and felt good about the strategies but I just didn't focus enough on the content like I should have. This time I have done Hurst Review and bought several NCLEX review books (Saunders, Hogan, PDA-LaCharity, EXAM CRAM) I have also been doing close to 150 questions every night using 3500 website. Hurst has definitely helped with my confidence in content, but now I am just worried that I haven't been focusing on questions like I should. I thought about buying the 3 week plan on NCSBN just for the questions but wasn't sure if it would be worth it. I am starting to get anxious which isn't uncommon for me haha considering my test anxiety! Just wanted to see if I could get some feedback or suggestions on how to get through these next two weeks and go into the test feeling confident. I plan on rescheduling the test date if I don't feel like I am ready yet, but I don't plan on knowing that until a few days beforehand. Any type of feedback would be awesome

As long as you do the best you can do as far as studying God will take care of the rest I to failed nclex 2 times and im taking my third attempt soon I did Hurst my first 2 fails and now I'm doing Kaplan I think hurst and Kaplan is a good combo so just stick complete all of your questions making sure to read your rationales for every question right or wrong and you will be fine.

Thank you for the encouraging words! We can do this!!

Also does anyone have any suggestions for pharmacology studying?

I would not worry to much about Phatm, look them over and know suffix but honestly you will likely not see one you've studied. I had 4 math which I made sure I got right and the other meds I had no clue what they were. Passed second time with 130 questions. Good luck to you.

If you know the basics of pharm drug classes, prefixes/suffixes such as -azole is often an anti fungal (Ketoconazole, etc) but also PPI ( lansoprazole , omeprazole ) in this case brand name can help PrevAcid.

-metidine are H2 blockers (famotidine, ranitidine, cimetidine )

-cillin is usually a penicillin antibiotic

You 'll have a fighting chance. NCSBN has a free NCLEX pharmacology flash card app

Thank you guys, I was beginning to get nervous about all of the Pharm because a few people told me that their tests were drug heavy. But I think Ellis02136 is right if I just know the main drug suffixes and all of their side effects I should be okay. Thank you guys for your input!
