Failed Nclex 4 times Help

Published

I have failed my nclex four times now and so frustrated, sad, confused, etc. I have done every study prep. review courses (Hurst, ncsbn, Kaplan, Uworld). The first test I got 156 questions and it shut off and failed me I had below passing on three of the sections. My second test I got to 192 before it shut off and failed me. I had below passing in three sections again. I then decided to get a tutor after failing the second time. I met with her 2-3 times a week did questions with her developed a plan, she found that my problem was that I wasn't identifying the correct "problem" of the questions which therefore was unable to correctly answer the questions since I wasn't answering what the correct problem was. We developed a method that I am to use while answering the questions. She felt I was ready and I took the test for the third time got all 265 questions and failed again. I was below the passing standard in one section. Devestated I got back into studying and meeting with my tutor and just took my fourth test last Monday, got all 265 questions again! 48 hours later I paid to get quick results and failed again. I'm at a loss for words, and my tutor is shocked. Still waiting for official results on how I did in each section. Can anyone give me any advice, words of wisdom or ideas of what to do so I can take this test and finally pass!! Please help me!!

Oh boy, I feel for you. I'm sure this is unbelievably stressful and discouraging. I can only recommend what I did, because it worked well for me. I used just Kaplan-the online resources as well as the in-person class-and I loved it. It explained exactly how to break down a question, had lots of practice tests, and included a ton of specific content review videos too. After 4 attempts, I'm assuming you've been out of school for a while now, so it may benefit you to brush up on content. If you have the opportunity and money to take a Kaplan class and use the website, I think you absolutely should. And sit down with your tutor and devise a strict study schedule and commit to answering a certain amount of questions every day. And read through every single answer explanation-even the ones you got right. If you are set on passing this test and being an RN, you should consider studying for the NCLEX your full-time job.

Hi there, have you considered doing an in person lecture to help refresh on the topics you seem to be not understanding?? I know you said you did hurst, but did you do the in person review?? Also I heard NRSNG has a new program and it's money back guaranteed
