After 240 questions and 6 hours straight of testing on the Nov 11th 2013, my result came out a bold FAIL! I did the pearson vue trick the following day, went straight to the cc. I cried hysterically, I am devastated, I can't explain this feeling but am praying and trying so hard to say strong and positive. Am a single mother of a teenage girl, she's crushed too with this because of what we've gone through together since nursing school. My school in which I graduated in Jan 2012 was not accredited and closed last October after being put on probation due to heavy nclex failure. I can't challenge LPN,, because of my school status. I've used Hurst review, Kaplan, NCSBN name it. For this exam I was used Nclex 4000 scoring between 72 to 89, Exam cram - 70 to 84 first try and Kaplan q trainers 6 & 7 scoring 78 and 80 respectively first try!. I was convinced in my mind there's no way on earth I was going to fail. I read here people getting 50's and 60's and passing this NCLEX MONSTER! WHY NOT ME??. Can someone out there pls advise or share some nclex material with me,, I had sacrificed my job, went part time and studied minimum six hours a day! and did 120 to 200 questions daily for last two years straight. I can hardly make ends meet now,, tons of accumulated bills I can't afford even money to register again. Pls tell me which good review I can try or what I should do to pass this exam. I pray,, fast and tithe and nothing seems to work!

Please don't take this the wrong way but the issue may be with your nursing education especially if the school was shut down by the BoN not long after you graduated and placed on probation while you were attending.
I know in some states graduates of schools shut down are required to remediate before being given eligibility to sit the NCLEX. ( sometimes the BoN requires the shut down school to pay for the remedial education as part of the closure )
Have you looked into an in person review? I think Hurst may offer them, I know Kaplan does. Perhaps if you consider one of Kaplan's live reviews they may offer a targeted review based on your reports from your previous attempts.
Are your difficulties in content/ knowledge or test taking strategies? Kaplan is great for test taking strategies while other reviews are good for content. & knowledge.
In you performance reports are your near/below passing standard areas always the same or do you have different strengths/weaknesses between attempts? This information may help create a targeted study plan.

Hi there! I am in the same boat as you. I am going to have my 6th take next year as I just received my go signal to retake the exam. I've been at this for almost 4 years already. My daughter is now 4 turning 5 next year and I am desperate for a better future for us. I'm a single mom too. I have tri3d saunders, hurst and did some of my own review but now I am serious about taking kaplan but the classroom review. I know I need to freshen up my content so I might read on my saunders book or read on the notes I had with the hurst review. My friends have been telling me to do kaplan eversince but I was always hesitant cz of the price but now I'm like eff it I just have to spend that money maybe that's my ticket to passing. We can do this!! Juat to let you know you are not alone. :)

Hey Gbless,
Whatever you do don't give up. My school used ATI and I found the books they have and their review was very helpful. Also, I liked the saunders comprehensive nclex review book. Have faith that thia to will past.

Hi, don't pay for another review. Answer lots of questions and read the rational make sure u understand why the answers are correct. Always read the nclex questions twice u will be fine.
Passed on my 4th attempt.

I would recommend that you take a nurse refresher course.
