I originally scheduled my exam last May, but since i'm having problem with my marriage, i had to re schedule it again. 4 days before my exam my husband started to argue with me till the day of my exam. I said to him to drive me early so that I can eat before I take my exam. He said when we are in the area then I will just eat there. So he drive me to the testing area, without eating. I'm supposed to eat while he's driving but he wants to do it near the area where I am taking my exam. While in the car my daughter was vomiting at the back of the car, while we are arguing again with my husband. It was traffic and we arrive in the area looking for a place to eat but we could not find it. So I said, "Fine! Il just go and take my exam, coz this is my last chance to take the exam coz its the expiration day. Well, I went to the testing area, without eating, my head feels very heavy, as I was trying to concentrate on the exam.
I needed to take my break at 40 questions coz I cannot concentrate as I was hungry. I got 3 math, 4 SATA and 3 unodered response. The rest priority and infection control.
Then I freaked out coz after 75 questions it stopped. I did not expect it, coz I thought Im going beyond 75. But no.....!
I knew in my heart I failed again. After all the hard work I have been doing. I still failed!. The first time I took kaplan twice it did not help me. So I figured out taking Hurst, coz I know Im poor with content. I did everything, on the program but I still failed! I was confident when I went to the testing area, but I could'nt concnetrate. I had a lot of stress, my relationship with my husband. Having to deal with my kids after work (7PM-7AM).
But eventhough I failed, I was still determined to take the exam again. But I am confused as what to do. Here is my problem....
I took the Florida Board of Nursing twice. I am planning to take California Board. But what do you think, do I have to take California already at least even how many times you failed you can still take as many times as you want. With Florida, after 3 times then you need to take a remedial course, it was so expensive even with their application form.
Please help, I need to do it asap!

Your grammar is a little sketcy so it is hard for me to understand exactly what you are saying. As far as I know you can take it as many times as you want in California. I would suggest waiting until after you get divorced or until your marital issues resolve...as you know HURST does not recommend taking your exam if there is ANY stress in your life at the time of the exam.

I am sorry to hear your story. It sounds like you may need to deal with your personal life, first, before trying to retake the exam. When did you find out your results?
I used this website:http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/ONLINETESTNET/default.aspx. And it says fail.... I know I can do this it just that sometimes my husband stresses me out.... read my previous post you will see my problem with him.

I too think you need to get sorted in your life before studying again to sit NCLEX. NCLEX is stressful enough without added stress. Preparing properly and not rushing to resit may help you but hard to say go to another state and apply, that is a decision only you can make

Unless you plan on living and working in Cali, it's not a state I'd suggest for testing since posts here indicate they can take a long time to give results! There are multiple states that allow you to retest as often as you wish to try if you just want a state to test in and then will endorse to your home state of Florida. There may be some differences in cost from one state to another but I've not researched it so I'm not sure if it would be significant.
But I thought you can use the pearson vue trick in any states. At least it will relieve anxiety if the trick works. I'm planning to endorse it to Florida in case I pass.
The Pearson trick doesn't issue a license and although it may work for all states you still have to wait for a license to be issued.

It takes three business days to get your (license) results on-line at the CA BRN; unless you are retaking after several years or they are having problems with your transcripts which is an issue on your schools end; many people have driven to Sacramento to hand deliver to the BRN because their schools are screwing around or messed things up.
If you took the NCLEX RN 3 times in Florida then you decided to take the license in California what will happen if you endorse you california license to florida? will there be a penalty or will Florida accept it? Will they know you took 3 times already in Florida and what's the consequences for it?
