when did you took your exam?,,i know its hard to accept that fact. im still waiting for my result but im grieving now coz i guess i failed since somebody here got his result after taking the exam last 19th..i took mine last 17th and till now i still doesnt have my result..maybe this would help,,my aunt told me to stand up when you fail since it didnt hurt us physically, there are some things that we will fail and it is a learning and we should not end our life or be depressed for one failure..its ok to cry and grieve for some time but to remind you its not the end of your life..stand up and go on with your life, study again and take it..

although i am an lpn im sure this info might help you. try getting test books from different publishers. dont just go by saunders. princeton hall is another good one or even lippencott. my teachers told me that if you continuously take questions no matter if you get them right or wrong it increases your chance of success. i seriously did 200 quest a day. i sat for boards last week and passed at 86. dont get discouraged!!!!! it is possibly due to test anxiety. you know this stuff-you would not have gotten this far if you didnt. keep positive do not kill yourself studying. like i tell my friends----turn,cough,and deep breathe.....its gonna be fine. oh and btw borders wont kick you out sit get the books and study it free hahahahahahaha us nursing students just love free.seriously you can do this think positive brush up on your weak stuff and let me know when you PASS-BECAUSE YOU WILL!!!!!!!

I know it sucks failing boards I have been there and so have plenty of other people but you have to realize that it isn't the end of the world. Yes, it does suck having to family and friends that you didn't pass but just because you didn't pass doesn't make you dumb or stupid you can still be a great nurse and not pass your boards. Just give it some time take a break from studying and start back up in a couple weeks. I am currently using suzannes plan... I am on the first tip right now and hope to move to the second tip soon. Keep your head up high and God will help you through this tough time.

Sorry to hear you did not pass this time. Do consider trying Suzanne's Plan. You just need the current edition of Saunder's and enough time to complete her program. Take a break and then start fresh as though you have not tested before. Best of luck to you.

You need to take a deep breath and start over as if you were studying for the first time. You can find out about Suzanne's plan by reading the stickies about it at the top of this forum. Many people have passed using her plan. Good luck.

Hi,
Don't be discouraged, get right back up and start studying again. I also failed my RN boards
the first time in July 2008. I did not have the money at the time to take the Kaplan Review, so I
did questions out of Saunders and a few discs from review books. But as it turned out it was not
enough of the Comprehension and Application type questions. I then did the Kaplan on line and completed every part of it and every question, which was alot. I read all the answer review information to each question and took notes. I spent alot of time, but I felt I learned so much from this. Sometimes I think more than I did in the LPN to RN Bridge Program. I took the NCLEX again in November 2008 and passed with 75 questions. I definitely felt more confident being able to sort through the answers using an educated rational system. I did very well in
Nursing School so that was not a factor. Taking the NCLEX you have to learn the strategy of the test. I know it is a heart breaker because most of your friends from school will pass. It depends on the test you get also. I have friends that had easy medication questions and only one math. I was slammed with med questions. Most of the medications I never heard of. If at all possible take the Kaplan I highly recommend it. Good Luck....
