I'll be graduating this month, so I have done a lot of research on the area hospitals. Morton Plant has really stood out to me and is my # 1 choice. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with the hospital? I would like to get a general idea of what it is like there. Were you happy there? How is the morale and overall atmosphere? How do you like the "magnet" status? How did it affect your role? Pros and cons of working there?

I did not work at MPM, but I did my clinicals there and liked it. I am working at a non-magnet hospital now, and I cannot really point out any huge differences between non-magnet and magnet hospitals. Yet it is always a plus to work at a magnet hospital. I liked how MPM had a clinical ladder (CN I , II, and III). The hospital in which I work does not have a clinical ladder system. MPM is in the middle of transitioning to computerized charting, and my hospital still has paper charting. One benefit of the former is that you wouldn't have to try to figure out physicians' handwriting. :) Good choice, though! I would recommend MPM.

I did clinicals at MPM and really liked the hospital and the employees there.
I dropped by the employment office a couple of months ago. At that time they weren't hiring new RN grads and they do not hire LPNs.
I hope things change by the time I graduate RN, I'd love to work at MPM.
